For those saying Morey should make a move such as sign J. Smith to keep up with the moves GS has made, he can't without losing a lot of flexibility. If we sign D12 first, we can go over the cap in a SnT with the Hawks. But if we did a SnT for J. Smith first then we would be in the same position as GS and only be able to sign D12 through a SnT with the Warriors. The Rockets have already made the moves they had to make, now all we can do is wait.
@Jonathan_Feigen: W @ESPNSteinLine reporting Dallas has been told it's out would think team Dwight chooses will get call before long to compete for next move.
Utah was dropping Millsap any ways. It was way past time for their young bigs to take on those starting roles. If they are tanking this is the year to do it and they are stacked with young talent suddenly.
Golden State won't have a 1st round pick of their own to trade for the next decade at the rate they're going. If Howard wants GS, the Lakers will demand the moon to make it happen. Then it'll be up to GS to agree or Dwight to call their bluff and come here, leaving the Lakers holding the bag. He should just make it easier for everyone and come here.
Wasn't there a tweet a day ago about Atlanta and Clippers being out of the race? IMO he stays in Los Angeles.

This doesn't make sense. First, it's not clear at all who Dwight prefers just because of what GS just did. Second, the Rockets getting the Lakers to take their S&T would do nothing if Dwight doesn't want to come here.
Don't know if this is a credible source but <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Hearing the Dwight Howard decision will be made within the hour</p>— Sports Whispers (@SportsWhispers) <a href="https://twitter.com/SportsWhispers/statuses/353260546885300226">July 5, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Not sure if this was discussed. GS just used cap space to sign AI giving up their chance to sign d12 outright. In exchange, for using their cap space to make them more attractive possibly to d12. BUT now they need LAL's help in S&T. Couldn't we just use our cap space to sign smith and be in the same position. We give up leverage on LAL by giving up cap space to sign d12 outright but then were better in comparison to GS with Smith + Harden. DM has to decide who the bigger threat is and gain leverage on them. GS or LAL....if its GS then d12 would have to convinced DM could make more moves to upgrade or sign Smith now and work the s&t w LAL. If its LAL then keep the space...... I think DM keeps the space and hopes d12 trusts he can put a better team together than GS.
