this is true in every aspect of pro sports, if you're a fan....yet people are engaged regardless and the industry counts its dollars in the billions. people care.
Prediction: DH is looking for a "good" way out of LA, so he agrees to come to the Rockets in a sign and trade. Lin and Asik and spare parts go to LA, DH to Houston. Everybody is happy.
Getting "nothing" (AKA cap space) is better than getting stuck with players that you don't want and are taking up valuable cap space.
Bogut is the key. If he's healthy and mobile for 75+ of those games, they might be top 4 in the West.
I'm remembering times in the past (I think when we drafted Eddie and again after Yao) that the board just was un-usable due to the high traffic.
Lakers aren't going to pay ridiculous lux tax and just hand Dwight over to GSW without a "star" or very high level prospect going their way. a) you don't pay luxury tax of 80m for a year even of expirings for a very average team b) if the warriors are half decent and in the west you don't just send them Dwight and hope for some miracle you fix your team and then you still somehow need to pass the warriors inWCF. they just won't do it unless they ARE getting a substantial player in return, which Barnes and Thompson are not. this is the Lakers were talking about here, the don't just "help" teams!
Dwight has the say because he is a free agent, he doesn't have to make sure the Lakers get something for him
This is getting intense. I am nervous but I really don't think that the Lakers would S&T to create a team like that within their division.
