Its THREE damned bad contracts!! Its not that easy. As said Larry Coon, "the Jazz don't have that much cap room"!!
one thing to note about the largest Dwight to GS pushers: both are from LA - Ramona Shelbourne and Mark Heisler Stein is reporting it from Ramona's reports to give it more national credence Heisler, IMO, is pretty good but his sudden twist on push the Dwight to GS has me thinking that he is doing it to raise his own profile and pander to ESPN. He is a free lance writer now with decent sources but hasnt had a legit gig in awhile since the LA Times dumped him. Other times writers - Adande and Plaschke have moved onto ESPN - he probably wants something similar - to be relevant again.
No one is saying Fish is not legit. People are question Heisler because what he says defies all logic and historical evidence.
Why would Lakers S&T with GSW? Why not let your contracts expire, re-sign Kobe for two years at a lower price, tank and swap picks for a top 3 pick, draft Wiggins or Randle, use your unlimited cap space next season (Nash 9m all that's on the books next season) to sign Lebron, Melo, Bosh, then you have a superstar and a franchise player under 20... All without signing and trading ANYTHING
Interesting how the GSW rumors are only from a select few, but the most notable reporters make little mention of it (Woj). This is no slight to Heisler, et al, though. Either he's got a rare source who just happens to be in the right place and right time, or he is being seriously misled. I admit it's enough to have me concerned though.
i don't understand why all the huss about D12, he is not that much a game changer, with him, the rockets would still be below the spurs and OKC , besides he needs a max deal, waste of money, this guy can't shoot free throw, no go-to moves, it's going to hurt us in the playoffs. I don't want D12, period....
I just don't really believe this. 1.) 15 teams don't have $10+ million in cap space to take Biedrins or Jefferson.Based on shamsports article, excluding teams like the Bobcats and Phoenix who have used theirs up, (http://www.shamsports.com/2013/06/the-amount-of-cap-room-teams-will.html) you end up with: Rockets (hah!) Dallas Atlanta Cleveland Utah Detroit Milwaukee, if they let Brandon Jennings or Monta Ellis walk and renounce all other free agents [yep, let's pay Richard Jefferson instead of Monta Ellis] Orlando also has a monster trade exception. That's your list of teams that could facilitate this deal. 2.) "Sticking it to the Lakers" by paying $10 million for dead weight? NBA owners are rich, but they're not actually that petty.
Until Curry injured his ankle? Seems to be a re-occurring theme. Also, just because Curry outplayed Harden in the postseason doesn't make up for the much better season Harden had overall than Curry.
Why dont the Rox go after Pekovic? Couldn't we theoretically sign him and Iggy? Or him and whoever? Or him and trade Asik for a PF and still have space left over? I feel a C who averaged 16 and 9 in his second season is a better investment then Dwight if it allows us to sign another star.... OR PERHAPS TWO.
This is getting pathetic. Just stop everyone, its like not even 11 AM in Colorado so why the HELL would "he hasnt said anything yet" point to him waiting for GSW? The guy probably partied hard last night and is not even awake yet. Guess what, he aint waiting for GSW he is waiting until he has to pee bad enough to get up. Some of you guys are ALREADY ungrateful, wanting his life changing decision to happen NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW instead of when he is damn ready. If I were Howard I would read this thread and just facepalm about the fans I may play for. Guess what? 4 teams are gonna be disappointed so prepare your anus, just like the anuses of Dallas, LA, ATL, and San Fran are prepared at the moment. Howard will tell us his decision when its time...probably not until he gets up though. So just wait a few more hours...damn.
