Not true. They are $12.3M over the salary cap right now. To offer Dwight the max they have to clear $34.3M. Clearing Bogut and Rush only clears $17.2M after cap holds. Just over half way there.
I honestly think he would sign with Warriors if he can join Barnes, Curry and Klay. But right now seems hardly possible for them. They have started with it too late.

The most plausible theory is he hasn't said anything to any team and GS is doing proper/normal due diligence - probably as they promised dwight. That if they were chosen they would figure out a way to be in a position to give him a max deal.
