Why do people act like money doesn't matter to the lakers?

Like they'd pay $50m in luxury taxes for a cripple and non all star talent like Barnes?

i agree draft picks at the bottom of the first round are worthless to the lakers, but the lakers can easily sell it for $3 M. thats how much draft picks go for in the bottom of the first round.

and i dont think LBJ wants to help kobe win the championship. LBJ's goal is to win more than kobe and even MJ. but either thompson or barnes and bogut, draft picks, and $3 M

if im the GM of the lakers, i would also be worried about my job. theres new ownership. tanking for wiggins is probably better long term, but empty seats at staples will not be good for the new owners. i would really be worried about my job

Tbh I think they bite on that. Bev's contract is a steal and they keep their flexibility down the track. I like the two, but hard to see LA softening the no S&T stance for those two.

barnes went 7th or 8th in a strong 2012 nba draft. there was talk of him going #1 when he was in college too. i think most would agree his ceiling is higher than parsons

No one is suggesting that paying $50m for one year of Parsons isn't r****ded either.

yes, i do think this trade is fair for both side; however, they still need to move the biggest contract there: jefferson. giving up addition asset will make gs less attractive to dh.

i think it's a little bit more than that.

Guys I don't have a good feeling about this.

I just pray he doesn't go to Dallas.

    amnesty artest.

get bogut, barnes, $3 M cash, and 2014 first round draft pick that can be sold for $3 M

artest is at $7.2 M. bogut and barnes at $17 M. difference of $10 M but in taxes that is in the $20 or 30 Ms i believe? the $3M cash and draft pick will help offset that some and getting barnes on a 3 years and $10 M contract as well is a steal

its also safe to say that Kupchak will be fired if the lakers miss the playoffs this year. this is why Kupchak would agree to this trade. tanking for wiggins is better long term, but hes worried about his job

lineup of nash, bryant, barnes, gasol, and bogut will fill the seats at staples on most night and lakers will compete for the 8th seed. (i know kobe of injuries)

im a rockets fan just like you, but im being realistic here. that is what most people would do if they are in Kupchak's shoes
