cyberx is legit. but i see some people are also high on this 'docrocket' fellow. has he leaked some things on here in the past? Well, apparently Howard is indecisive and we may not even get a decision tomorrow.
Some dude on LakersGround is saying he's gone. People seem to view him as we view our insiders. They're taking him seriously.
Look, I don't mean to step on anyone's toes here, but why do any of you believe anything from the "insiders" on this thread. Unless they are locked up in the cabin in the mountains with Dwight, chances are they are just speculating, or even worse...trolling. I respect everyone on this forum, but unless its a highly reputable source such as Woj (Yahoo!), take it with a grain of salt...and even take what he says with a grain of salt. As for people asking why in the hell would we do a S & T with LA...its pretty simple. Send Lin and Asik to the Lakers for Dwight, and sign Josh Smith outright..or vice/versa
Holy crap. No we don't have to assume that. It is just an option. All your trade does is limit options while adding one good piece. Yes, I think they care about adding $20M just to get Harrison Barnes and still not being a good team. Of course they do. My point was never that they plan on amnestying Pau if Dwight walks for free. Never. My point was they could do that and not basically have to do that if they take that trade from GSW.

This all sounds like a load of crap. On Wednesday it was Dallas was edging us out as frontrunners. On Tuesday it was LAL had a great meeting and we think it changed everything. Thursday brings "GSW is moving in fast, looks like it is S&T", coupled with a sudden "Oh, BTW, maybe the LAL will maybe just be open to the right S&T"... Oh, and cyberx, who is a LAL fan and likely works on their end of the table comes out with a "he's so confused" post after days of nothing, just to reinforce the daily swinging speculation. This ALL has LAL smokescreen written all over it. ESPN and most media are so helplessly pro-LAL they can't even distinguish these leaks from propaganda or manipulation anymore - or they just don't care. LAL seems to be concluding that they are losing Dwight. I am NOT convinced that they are simply willing to let him walk and keep capspace. They can take on a few contracts and still be in a VERY good position next year. I am starting to think that this whole thing is just a smokescreen by LAL to try and play teams against each other to offer the best S&T offer. It all sounds like a load of BS to me. The basic calculus hasn't changed - we still have the best situation to offer Howard. I actually wouldn't have a problem S&T Lin/Asik for Howard if we are signing Calderon and Smith as part of that move, but I really don't like being played like this. I believe that Morey and Co. are smart enough to see through this BS.
Interesting stuff on Rockets offering S&T for Dwight. What we know is that if Houston wants both Dwight and Josh Smith, it will have to do a S&T for at least one of them, and will have to include at least one of Lin or Asik if it's for Smith, and likely both Lin and Asik if it is for Dwight. One reason you'd choose to do S&T with the Lakers as oppose to the Hawks would be to make the Lakers less willing to accept a low-return S&T from another team, like Golden State. If the Lakers are choosing between nothing from Houston, and a little something from GS, they may well go the GS route if Dwight's threat was "Trade me to GS or else I am going to Houston." However, if the Lakers are offered something from Houston (likely some collection of assets from a 3rd team taking Lin and Asik), then its asking price from GS gets higher-- perhaps it gets high enough that GS becomes an unattractive option for Dwight Howard. Of course offering assets in a Dwight S&T might make Houston less attractive, but the difference is that doing so can enable the Rockets to add Josh Smith (And adding Josh Smith will require the loss of at least one of Lin and Asik, likely the latter, anyway). It's a lot of moving pieces and leveraging going on among the teams and Dwight's camp. If this is the case, no wonder Dwight is confused.
ok so follow me for a second....just typed in Dwight Howard Rockets into twitter search and this came up https://twitter.com/solodolowhore/status/353023231231397889. check who this kid is follow, thats right Derek Rivera.
if he doesn't make a decision by the end of Friday, he will take a huge hit again. He's probably the most hated athlete in sports due to his constant wavering and now this? After committing to announcing the decision on Friday, if he doesn't stand by his word, that's terrible. I've never lost more respect for an athlete than I did for this guy.
X is the Lakersground version of Cyberx X wrote: I'm hearing as of 11pm pacific..LA thinks he's gone, almost 100%. While Howard could indeed have an epiphany..it's not looking good. Either way, we're coming to the end here shortly. He broke Dwightware part 1 last year and released credible info to them. Funny both names have x in them.
True. Anyone think the rockets want to trade lin to the lakers for dwight so they can have the cap space to sign calderon and then do asik+filler for josh smith? It doesnt make sense because they already have nash. It would pretty much be a take him or leave him since we have the cap space to sign dwight already. Lin's cap hit is less then how much he is owed which is good for their LT situation. I still think the rockets and dwight want lin for marketing opportunities.
