I'd make the Lakers take Royce White too if we're giving them Asik. The only real reason to do the S&T is to dump Lin's salary. Not sure why LA would want to do this.
No, they don't. It'll be like $8M, assuming they amnesty Pau (or move him for free). They would amnesty him if they do the GSW SnT. And repeater doesn't matter much since they won't go deep into luxury tax. They have only Nash so will fill up w/ signings (can't go over cap), and SnT uhh what? Nash is their only asset.
Dude, only the Lakers can offer the extra 5th year.....even in a S&T. Under the new CBA, sign and trades don't give you the extra year. Dwight would want the Rockets to do a S&T so they can acquire another max free agent.
Tanking + get Barnes. Bogut's an expiring (like Pau is anyways) and they would otherwise amnesty Metta.
If Dwight says to the Rockets that he wants to join them, then they do not need to do a sign and trade. If the two party agrees then Laker cant force any trades on the Rockets unless Dwight wants that extra $20-30 million?! If Dwight is serious about contending and he wants to join the Rockets why would he force them into weakening the team? However, if there is still a trade between Rockets and Lakers, I am assuming its because Lakers get something without losing Dwight for nothing (mostly to save face) and Rockets need to clear space to sign that 3rd guy.

I agree. I really don't think the Lakers take on ANY contracts if they are indeed losing Dwight. I sincerely doubt they'd be willing to pay the Repeater Tax for Asik and Lin. For them, maintaining their cap flexibility going into next year is the highest priority.
It'd be Barnes + pick + Bogut. GSW still strong enough for Dwight to want it. LAL gets something nice. Threat of walking to HOU otherwise.
If GS can pull off trading the guys they need to then I think Dwight is gone. Great shooters around him and moving into a new arena. Hard to top that.
Was just gonna say this. Guys, if Lakers are willing to do a sign/trade with Dubs - barnes/bogut/draft pick for howard, I assume all of you would have no problem offering a better package than the warriors? Say Parsons,Asik, and draft picks? If you say you don't want howard if it means giving up parsons, you're lying to yourself.
Dwight Howard is acting like a b****. He's letting the Lakers dictate the SnT by allowing them to select the team that gives them the better offer. Howard should just tell them what he wants. Let the Lakers hold an empty bag. No compassion. Did the Lakers show any compassion to the Magic when they acquired Shaq in 96...
I can't put a lot of stock into this. I feel GSW would have already flipped these contracts if they got the word from Howard. Jefferson and Biedrins aren't really a big factor for their team whereas Bogut is. I just feel like ESPN is trying to make a story. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like GSW is out of based on this.
