Ok today I learned that people don't what time zone Houston is in & O Doc Rocket credibility gonna be put to the test!
Wow Clutch you're up late monitoring. Do you expect any news tonight or are you just on watch alert like so many of us nuts.
Lakers brace for worst with Howard http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...ays?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Im still sticking to Dwight to Houston this is all just rumors him going somewhere else . Witch is great news that way itll cut down on any tampering discussion's. GS isn't doing anything if they were so sure in landing Dwight they would have already done it imo.
Lakers brace for worst with*Howard Updated: July 5, 2013, 1:05 AM ET By Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne | ESPN.com http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...kers-bracing-worst-dwight-howard-sources-says
ESPN is now saying Lakers will be willing to entertain sign and trades, and reports that "The Rockets also have sign-and-trade pitches planned, sources said, with Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik sure to be offered to L.A. in exchange for Howard," concluding that "Houston would covet a sign-and-trade arrangement, if it was fortunate enough to land Howard, so it could try to follow up that blockbuster acquisition by trying to sign his good friend Josh Smith, whom the Rockets have long coveted." http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...akers-bracing-worst-dwight-howard-sources-say

The pick isn't a big deal. It is getting Barnes. Bogut is an expiring anyways, and to make the salary work. LAL would have to amnesty Pau if they do this (or trade him for very little back). They'd avoid paying much in luxury taxes then...not really much more than they already will be paying right now. They are even a worse than (and will have a better pick in 2014) if you believe they would have otherwise amnestied Metta. Barnes + Bogut < Pau Gasol. If you think they would have amnestied Pau regardless (I really don't think so), then yes, adding Barnes + Bogut makes LAL a bit better and thus a worse 2014 pick. As compensation, they are getting Barnes, a proven great young prospect w/ more upside, and a low first round pick in 2014 (meh). Repeater tax status does not really matter that much because again, next yr LAL will only have Nash on the books. Most of their cap will have to be filled via FA signings. Hard to go over the cap. Can't SnT w/o assets. I doubt they go very deep into the luxury tax, if at all next yr.
Now I'm scared. I hope I am very wrong, and my fears of GSW stealing him away from us will be completely unfounded come tomorrow morning.
i think chris broussard said it best.. if james harden was a free agent both the lakers and mavs would be trying to get him to team with dwight.
You think this is late? The way this week is gone, it's just early evening right now. Not really. I feel good about it, but I try not to get swayed by these reports from random sources.
