Why would anyone think that there would be an announcement tonight? What incentive is there for that? If anything, I'd expect it tomorrow AM or early afternoon.
Yeah because finished his job clearing space and now GS is just starting theirs. Dwight won't wait for them. He'll be hurting 5 teams waiting for his work and frankly I think Morey will get tired of it eventually.
I totally agree. The thing they fail to realize is even WITH Dwight Howard they're not winning a championship. If I'm Howard, I'm not dealing with another disappointing season hoping that we might land free agents in 2014. Kobe and Nash are both promising they'll be healthy. When was the last time Nash was healthy? Sometime around when The Dark Knight was released? and I don't think it's realistic to expect Kobe to return to form until halfway through next season. Give me a break, ya know?
Exactly- and that John G idiot- clearly, they have two posters on there who are really clueless about how NBA teams develop. Kobe Bryant wasn't exactly scoring 27 points a game when he first came out. Go look up stats for the first years of Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Tony Parker, etc. Look at how the Thunder did in their first few years with RW and KD. You think there's a reason why knowledgeable analysts all agree that the Rockets are the best up-and-coming team for Howard? Umm, yeah, because they are. It's cool, let them continue their ignorant trash talk.
This thread kills me! So many diehard fans that go from one extreme to another. My doctor once told me to stop watching the Rockets bc of my blood pressure.
That is the best scenario. S&T Lin for Calderon first. Calderon takes less than $7M and you sign Dwight to the max and Canaan to a Parsons type contract. Then trade Asik, Jones, and White's contract to ATL for Smith and can offer Smith up to about $16.6M.
So anxious for a decision, not only for my selfish rockets fandom, but so I can stop hearing Chris Broussard repeatedly say " The Lakers are the Lakers"
I'm going to repeat this for what seems like the hundredth time, but the Lakers aren't doing any sign and trades, nor will Howard pick Golden State. The Lakers are in the repeater's tax, and they get slammed with a 70-80 million dollar hit if they do a deal for Dwight. This would force them to eat gasol's deal via amnesty for nothing, rather than dealing him for picks. Also, they would be setting up a fellow California competitor with a set contending roster for the next 4 years, which can hurt their brand as both the warriors and clippers will be good as the Lakers rebuild. Also, they get the privilege of competiting in the same division as Dwight those 4 years, making their road back harder. As for Dwight, he loses money here, rather than signing outright with Houston, for what is at best an equal basketball situation. How does he lose cash? No state taxes in Houston vs the millionaire tax in California. If he's ruled out the Lakers, Dwight will be a Rocket, period.
Hilarious - OOHHH, we can't take anyone talking honest about our team, so we'll ban them. What a bunch of thin-skinned morons. GOOD LUCK SITTING ON THE SIDELINES FOR THE NEXT DECADE, LAKERS FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was reading some of their pages, and they kept on talking about how they don't mind him and someone else
Right, ESPN hates the Lakers- are these people f**king serious? Do they live in a cocoon? Really, it's mind-boggling how delusional some of them are.
My grandad always used to tell me, "don't believe anything you hear and only have of what you see." I've been using this philosophy during this whole Dwight saga. The ONLY time ill believe a something is if Woj reports it.
