Right, but they can just try to move Pau after doing this, or even amnesty him. Pau's gone after this yr anyways, and LAL would be trying to get assets while tanking. SnT Dwight for a pick, Barnes and Bogut. Trade Pau to teams that might be interested (maybe us for cheap?) or amnesty him. Thus avoid the luxury tax, suck just as much AND still retain max cap room (besides Nash and now a team option on Barnes) going into 2014. See my above response. They wouldn't have to pay luxury taxes. First off, repeater taxes don't fully kick in until next yr. Just new cba luxury tax, which would hurt, but again, move Pau.
