Reading that twitter, saw GSW supposedly offering future #1, Bogut, and Barnes in a SnT for Dwight. Why wouldn't LAL take that deal if they think Dwight is walking? Which seems quite possible now? Or if Dwight tells them, hey I'm going Rockets unless you guys SnT me to GSW? Bogut's contract comes off the books after this season. Barnes is a great young prospect that LAL would want, and even if they somehow did not after this season (doubtful), he's cheap and is a team option next yr. Plus a future no. 1? Uhh...am I missing something?
Doc Rocket certainly didn't imply that we're getting Dwight and Aldridge. At least that's what I gathered from his tweets.
We've seen low 1st round picks go for $3million. GSW would have to include Thompson and Barnes to give away $30 million in salaries. There's no way.
Agreed. You have teams that are willing to take on those salaries and not lose assets, yet, they are still interested in a S&T with LA where you will absolutely have to part with assets. That's a pretty horrible smoke screen imo.
Doesn't work like that. The exceptions GSW would receive would be in amount of EACH the contract that it sends out, not in the combined amount and not in the amount of the trade exception that the other team has. If you send a $14M player and a $2M player out to a team with a $20M trade exception, what you get is a $14M trade exception and a separate $2M trade exception, which cannot be combined.
So are we all in agreement that a lineup of Harden/Parsons/Aldridge/Howard would be playing in the Finals next year? That squad would be so sick.

I have to think parsons would be gone in any deal for LMA. But as much as I love Parsons, I'd be very okay with him being a casualty for Aldridge
