http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=235496&page=28 Hey guys, I am the one who broke the Josh Smith/Howard news three months ago. I'm told the Lakers are willing to make a sign an trade if Dwight chooses Golden State.
Dude, No, just no, Wilt is the best center in Warriors history, and that was the real Wilt, not the shrivelled up corpse that played in LA. L2History
Would the Hawks want Terrance Jones and Royce White though? that is the question that Ferry would have to answer. If I was a GM of the Hawks, I would trade Josh Smith for Asik and Lin. two assets that could help the Hawks in the future. Especially with that kid Shroeder being a potential Rondoesque like pG.
actually over 19.5 M in trade exception. Bogut's contract expires after this year and thompson/barnes still on their very affordable rookie contract. i would take that deal if i was the magic GM. not both thompson/barnes but one of them. can probably get a 2nd round draft pick too. those are worth 1 or 2 million
Slow news day or what? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I'm told Dwight Howard and Jose Calderon are interested in playing together. Calderon may wait for Howard to make a decision before signing.</p>— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/AlexKennedyNBA/statuses/352968388819169280">July 5, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Not true at all. I agree that is the most likely, but if they could do a deal like the Calderon deal, they could use White's contract as a means to come closer to the salary Smith wants in a trade, still sign Dwight, and not have $580K of dead money the next 2 seasons. For a team like Atlanta, having White is basically a non-issue. They will be below the cap anyway, so either they see if he is a player or they just pay him out this year and don't have to stretch him and limit themselves at all the next two.
White is not eligible to be amnestied and even if he were the Rockets have already used their amnesty on Scola.
