Mark Jackson and one of his motivational sermons from the mount did it! I'd probably give in, too. LOL.
Because no one knows for sure what he's going to do..including him. It's why I said earlier, I do not expect a quick decision at this point. I thnk that's worse for the Lakers than it is for any other team, frankly. Also because it's July 4 and Woj might be watching fireworks with his family somewhere.
just realzed, if Dwight chooses golden state, Lakers could just S&T asking for expiring contracts, which the lakers want and probably Klay Thompson and draft picks. That would be a pretty good franchise to build upon. Steph and Dwight together with Mark Jackson as the HC.
Even an expiring deal as a one year rental? I think he keeps us competitive and better for the 2014 free agent sweepstakes as well...
The way I see the back story of this... West and Kupchak are good friends. Dwight is favoring signing with Houston outright. Lakers made a bad pitch to Dwight and afraid they are on the verge of losing him for nothing. Kupchak calls West and says ok, what will you give us in a S&T for Dwight... Leaks to former Laker insider Heisler. Espn and others speculate on Heisler's story: GS making room for Dwight. Not sure if Lakersband GS will come to an agreement? Possibly Barnes, Bogut and 1st? Offer this to Dwight who will see a gutted GS team and desperation from Lakers and say "HELL NO I'm going to Houston."
Or maybe he likes cali so much. I can see why. Not very good weather today. He might end up on a worse team that looks better. More injury prone team. And taking less money. All to play in oakland.
Honestly... Dwight is never going to win a title. The best thing for you guys to do is trade Lin&Asik for Gasol and sign Josh Smith. Beverly Harden Parsons Josh Smith P. Gasol You don't need dwight.. he might make you a contender on paper but you won't win in June.
Curry cant even stay healthy?? He would be the only legit star on the warriors, because steph will be in a suit and tie.
They are trying to get more followers, recyling old news.. no matter what Mark Says you got to back it up!! Houston still going to be good because we got a dern good GM who keeps us Cap Flexible. Of all the teams The Rockets going to be ok.
That's about the time his contract will be ending.... The team that signed him will most probably get a good 3 year playoff push. Rockets are willing to win now so I don't see problem for a 3,4 year rental. By that time Harden will only be 27, 28 still able to alter the rotation
Pau is fine at Center (as a 3rd option)... besides he already schooled Dwight once for a championship.
If that's where we are, I'd far rather keep Asik than trade him for Pau freaking Gasol. I'm fine with seeing if you can trade Lin to create space for something else. And fine with signing Smith.
Curry played 78 games last season. Anyone who believes Harden and Dwight is a better duo than Curry and Dwight is a homer.
Yeah.. I felt the same way in 2010 when Lebron scheduled his "decision" 15 minutes away from the Knicks practice facility.
You guys seriously need to chill out. What if GS said, "Look, look, don't make a choice yet, let us see if we can clear the cap space...." Dwight could be hovering between Houston and GS but GS can't move those contracts, just can't. They'd have to manufacture a 3-way trade giving LA a player they don't want to lose. Houston already has all that w/o giving up anybody. Jeez, dudes, relax. Carl Herrera's already got DH12 in a GSW uniform. Ridiculous. Maybe not better, but definitely not worse. If we hadn't turned over our starting PFs at the trade deadline we might've finished ahead of Golden State in the playoffs and they wouldn't look like a better team than us to some of you.
