LA is not a franchise player, and Harden isn't a good enough player to carry a team to a title without another player on his level. Not getting Dwight means we are going to have to really hope to hit a homerun with a random draft pick.
This Golden State thing is bogus. If they want to sign Dwight outright, they need to move 30 mil out the door to sign Dwight. If they were to attach Curry (they won't) they might be able to find someone to swallow one of their terrible contracts, but Barnes and Thompson are not worth taking a bad contract for. Even if they could find teams to take Jefferson and Bogut with Thompson and Barnes attached, what team would that be? Capped out with Howard, Curry (not as good as Harden) and a bunch of old stiffs whose careers are trending downwards? That is not a better situation than Howard's other options. Trading is the same way. LAL are not contenders and will not be until they rebuild. Their best option would be to amnesty Kobe, trade Pau or Nash if they can find takers, and SUCK HARD this season (they owe their '15 and '17 first rounders) GSW has to include one of their big salaries for the numbers to match, and Thompson and Barnes just aren't worth enough for LAL to swallow one of those toxic deals. The Bynum-Howard-Iggy deal last year should remind us all never to underestimate the stupidity of NBA GMs, but I just don't see any way GSW can get Howard while retaining enough of their productive assets to remain a place he'd like to be.
Most don't mind opposite opinions but Carl goes out of his way to poo poo every single but of decent news and celebrate any news that indicates D12 may be going somewhere besides Houston. He's been cheering for Rockets failure since DM traded his precious Patrick Patterson. Carl is not a troll and there is really no way to argue against that one fact.
It will make you appreciate it that much more if he does actually sign here. I will know that he had other legit options and chose us.
How many bad picks do you have to give up to unload 3 horrific contracts? GSW don't have enough pics on GMs with free cap space to make it happen. Not. Gonna. Happen. Relax... The Hawks were never in it. The Warriors are wanna bes but have 3 toxic contracts that they can't unload without unloading the players that DH wants to play with and then they have to get LA to help them out. Dwight would have the smallest take home paycheck out of all the teams. Long. Shot. Like saying alls you need to do is pick the same 6 numbers in the lotto and you win...simple. The Mavs are needing to unload contract but haven't made a move. The are old and are a year away from a true rebuild. Years always from contending. The Lakers are a train wreck. Pringles...a 39 year old pg...a busted, egotistical sg that doesn't get along with DH and are a year from rebuilding and years from really contending. That leaves 1 team standing. A team that made all the right moves to have the max ready for him. No state income tax. A year young team that is poised to take off. A team that has all the pieces to move forward. Contrary to what you hear from Internet trolls, twitter accounts from a friend of a person that knew a nanny of the agent who lived next door to Dwight's aunt or pictures posted from Vail...there is only 1 team.
Still seems like an empty statement... Of course LA would deal if they're going to get someone like Curry when DH is going to leave anyways... I don't think GS goes for any deal that the Lakers would want and vice versa.
Just because you and I don't think anywhere other than HOU makes sense for Dwight, doesn't mean Dwight shares that opinion.
