appreciate the thread TS. dont listen to the thread police. some people dont want to comb through a 5,000 reply thread for this info.

Yea agree with that poster who said if he can get away with rape, he thinks he's untouchable.

No he didn't!! I honestly feel that Kobe could care less if he Dwight stays or not. Kobe isn't gonna kiss his ass and tickle his balls he doesn't have to because its still Kobe's team AND.... It's going to be Kobe's team til he hangs em up

All they need is an athletic 4 or decent 5 to play alongside Kobe once he returns and they should be fine .. Adding to the rest of the Lakers starters that is!! As long as Kobe is playing he WON'T EVER BEG a player to stay!! It's not his personality

Kobe's a multi millionaire and she's....I dunno her mother? What's 400 grand to Kobe? He probably burns more in a night of partying.

Kobe wants to teach Dwight how to win? They were teammates last season already, so you'd think they would have started by now. Were they just messing around and wasting time?

Am I the only one who thinks a 35 yr old with a ruptured Achilles is no longer capable of being a top dog? Dwayne wade had knee issues at 31 and was subpar in the playoffs.... Kobe will at best be 80% of what he was last year pre injury in January or February... And he'll prob never get back to even 85% physically... And it could be worse... I feel like everyone is taking for granted that he'll be the same guy that lead them to the eighth seed.

I'm with you man, Kobe as a top 20, heck top 50, player is done and buried. Given his age and the devastating injury (which may be the most devastating of all BBall injuries for a guard), he'll be lucky to average 18 points on 52%TS...and forget about him playing any kind of defense or rebounding, he's completely done with that. Oh, can you imagine him trying to pull off his turnaround MJ-fadeaway with a gimp achilles? All's he gonna be doing is jacking up long 2s, and trying to be a facilitator, too bad his passing skills aren't elite...

Did anyone think this would go well?

I wonder if the Lakers were too afraid to tell Kobe to STFU.

What are you Kobe's lawyer or his Mom's realtor? You couldn't possibly know any of what you just spouted unless you are.

Wrong. This memorabilia was so close to his heart he left it with her, for her to drag around from residence to residence for nearly 20 years. Kobe is greedy, and a world-class *sshat. Forget about the rape case that was dropped and his career long love affair with himself, Kobe is just a straight-up douche.

If I was Dwight I wouldn't want to hear about championships from Nash, who has none in spite of his greatness. I especially wouldn't want to hear from Kobe about championships. How exactly is Kobe supposed to teach D12 how to win championships? If Shaq doesn't come to LA and show Kobe how to do it, he doesn't get the first 3. If Memphis doesn't allow themselves to be violated while sending Gasol to LA for criminals and scrubs, Gasol doesn't show Kobe how to win the last 2 championships, since Kobe only "knows how to win championships" when he has a future HOF, perennial All-Star to do the hard work and lead the team. He must've forgotten how to win 'Ships while he was the only star, the supposed go to guy.

If I was D12, I would be scheduling my press conference to announce his signing with the Rockets before I even left the Lakers self-love show/bribe attempt. I would be insulted by Kobe's arrogance if I was Dwight and get as far from the Lakers as possible as they get flushed and go swirling down towards their inevitable rebuild.

Kobe may not come back and be the same player he was that got him 5 rings and yes he is older. Will Derek Rose come back from him injury at almost a decade younger and be the same player from his devastating injury??
Kobe will come back and play with his brain , he will have to hop like all the greats before him had to play when they were beginning their decline and on the brink of retirement. I still believe Kobe will be rehabilitated enough and smart enough to come back and if LAL can add a young 4 or 5 OR... resign Dwight... They will be right back in the hunt. I am also saying Kobe , Michael Jordan, those guys would NEVER BEG a player to come back or stay!!! To the original point of this post -- I don't think Kobe cares either way HENCE Kobe telling Dwight "straight up"
