No, it's structured as a 3 team trade. It's fine from a cap situation. The real question is if a team would actually take Bogut for nothing. Why would Cleveland or whoever pay $14m for an oft-injured big man?

I have a hard time believing the Warriors could find a way to make that happen without losing Barnes or Thompson, if not both. For the Clippers, getting Reddick (who could've signed MLE) cost them Eric Bledsoe.

Agreed that it is plausible, though I just don't see how they do this without losing Thompson or Barnes. The Rockets and Warriors had very similar records - I'd say the fact the Rockets could do the deal straight away, while the Warriors would likely have to give up a core piece or two (in addition to likely losing 2 other key pieces in Jack and Landry to free agency) would give the Rockets an edge.

BTW, I think I saw from Larry Coon that the farthest out a team can trade 1st round picks is 7 years. So 2020.

monta opted out well before the deal was made - he was a UFA pretty sure the bucks renounced any cap hold on him

Reddick was part of the deal - they sent him out so it didnt matter

the Suns had the space to send TPE back to the bucks

If YouTube has taught me anything, it's that that class will be full of a bunch of current 8th graders that can throw it down!

For the record, I'm pretty happy with wht we got or TRob. That Greek guy can shoot! And I like 6'11" athletic 20yr olds. I also like 2nd round picks...given what Morey seems to do with them. Oh wait...I like having max cap room for superman too.

Now tell me what was the down-side of acquiring TRob?

Everyone always brings up "bad 1st round picks" argument. Yet it never fails that teams obviously do not look at it that way. You think the Suns expected the Lakers picks to be good picks? No, but its what they could get because that's the team Nash WANTED to got to. In sign and trades it's not about the value of trade offers...it's about getting ANY value. I think the Warriors threat is real.

Well, I agree that's a big part of what weighs in the Rockets favors-- Houston will likely have more flexibility and assets to mold a team around Dwight and Harden than Golden State does because the Warriors will likely have to lose some assets (be it players to be traded or lost to free agency, or draft picks) to obtain Dwight while the Rockets get to keep theirs.

But Dwight might still consider GS a more desirable situation for him (for whatever objective or subjective reason) even if they are to lose these assets, including Thompson or Barnes. Maybe he just likes Steph Curry that much more than Harden. Maybe he trusts Jerry West's track record and doesn't trust Daryl Morey. It is up to him. I am just saying that it's not crazy for him to want Golden State even considering the factor that you point out.

Here's on article about the amazing fit the Warriors are for Howard, just posted today:

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/60848/howards-potential-statistical-fits-warriors

Nope, they haven't renounced Ellis' cap hold or Dalembert's. They're actually still over the cap. And it does matter that Redick had a cap hold. That was the only way they could sign and trade him.

The Cavs and the Kings have the space to send a TPE back.

Why do you speak on matters in which your knowledge is so, so limited?

The problem with you is that you think: a) everything you say is gold, and b) that anytime someone disputes what you say, that person is a moron. Is it a self-esteem issue or something?

Have there been any rumors of Dallas getting rid of Marion and his 9.3 million?
