Houston could be getting used as leverage, again. It's possible Dwight told the Lakers to get a deal done with one of 2 teams (perhaps Denver, and GS). Maybe he told them he is signing with Houston on July 10th if they don't work out a deal. So they took down the billboards and they are relaying info to Dwight through his agent. It could just be one team, that way they don't have anyone to bid against them. Of course, Dwight gets last word. Dwight and his agent have been planning for this for over a year and it is the best way to get to where he wants. The thing is I don't see the lakers wanting anything those teams have to offer. They would have to throw in some nice pieces in order for the Lakers to take on the LT penalty this year for Bogut.
How many 'ships has Kobe won withOUT Phil jax? Also, plz remind Howard, I mean plz remind me who's the current lakers coach?
Bogut and Rush would go to other teams under the cap. The Lakers wouldn't be taking any salary back, just picks. Instead of nothing
Again, why would the Lakers want two LOW first rounders?? It does NOTHING for them. They need cap relief, good young talent, and a HIGH draft pick.
Why in the world would Los Angeles want Bogut and Rush? Getting low first round picks would not be worth the much larger tax hit they would get with those two, and it hardly does anything to help their long term plans. I don't see anyway Dwight would go to GS.
2 late almost purchasable first round picks aren't enough compensation for the lakers to actually HELP a division/state rival. that's just the bottomline. there's a pride factor with the lakers.
I think some of you guys aren't reading what he posted. He isn't saying Bogut and Rush to LA. He said Bogut and Rush to other teams, in exchange for first round picks that would be sent to LA. LA wouldn't be taking on salary - just dumping DH in exchange for the picks. Other teams would be taking on Rush and Bogut's expiring contract. I'm open to being corrected if I'm wrong, but that's how I'm reading it.
A team under the cap is going to take on $14 million of busted Andrew Bogut AND giveaway a draft pick that would be enticing to the Lakers? If it were me I'd be inclined to just keep my cap space. For someone under the cap to take Bogut they are going to have to get something better than Kareem Rush.
I disagree with thekad. Why would the lakers do that (de ja vu of the last time howard was traded). They would not pay around $45 million to rent bogut for one season. That is how bad the lakers cap situation is and why everyone believes them when they say they want the space. Barnes, thompson, and bogut is the beginning of the conversation for the lakers. And that is too much for golden state who is trying to take advantage of the lakers. They over value their players too much and even turned down thompson for harden.
yea, that's what he meant. few here aren't understanding that...but the bottomline remains that lakers aren't helping the warriors become a powerhouse just to receive some garbage picks.
Hey, if you read the post then you know he will most likely sign here because the those teams don't have anything worth the cap savings.
