People like Kobe can not relate to people like Dwight - they are just not on the same level as far as their thinking. Dwight is more on the Lebron level, where he wants to win, but having fun doing it....Kobe like MJ is a killer. You can win with either.....Shaq is another example of a fun winner. DD
It's pretty simple really. You have 3 teams, Atlanta, Dallas and LA, reportedly planning on rebuilding if D12 does not sign. That says a lot. You have 2 Teams that could move forward and continue to build without D12, Houston and GSW. GSW has to do a S&T to get D12. Scratch them. It has to be Houston.
I find it funny that people are still mentioning that he's deciding? Really?? The guy had a 1 year trial with the Lakers...if he had any interest in returning, he had plenty of time to make that decision over the course of the year. Also, while playing in LA, he had all the time necessary to check out other teams. You know why he didnt make a quick decision as soon as the FA period started? Because if he chose another team outside of the Lakers, LA would have been completely pissed that he immediately jumped ship. By taking a few days or a week, he gives them the sense that he's really mulling things over, lessening the backlash he will receive. Let's put this into a real life situation...ever had that girlfriend that you knew you didnt want to be with anymore, but you dragged out the break up process to make it seem like you tried? Same thing here. No way Howard is returning to LA. If he was, he would have committed right away and made all the people of LA happy.
Martin Brian Ansah just followed me on Twitter. Dwight follows him. I live in Houston. itshappening!.gif
As simple as that sounds it's just not that simple with Dwight but hey Dwight may mean what he says regarding winning championships now.
I really hate that people are pressuring him to decide. I know I would take my sweet ass time if I had this big a decision to make. But man, we are losing some opportunities with role players signing all over the place. I hope we'll know in the next 24 hours.
Good point. He wants to upset the Laker's fans as least as possible. From everything I've read, he's coming to here.
I feel the same way, but the reality is Morey likes to sit back and see what player slips through the cracks ala Delfino and scoop them up at a discount. It is, however, possible that we're missing out on plan B type opportunities if Dwight does decide to remain with LA.
I think this is spot on. Expanding a bit on his one year trial, its hard to see where things could have gone more wrong. 1) Dr. Buss passes away. 2) Their best player has a season ending injury and may never be the same. 3) Got swept in the first round of the playoffs 4) Fire their head coach and hire someone with a completely different system which just so happens not to suite Dwight. 5) Perhaps most importantly, Dwight didnt have a very good time. 6) Paul resigns across the street Did I miss anything?
So, you're saying no one would ever take 4 yrs to break up with the gf they didn't want? Im pretty sure i know some people like that lol..
