If he wants to have fun like the BIG 3 are having in Miami, he will sign with Houston. Not saying we would be as good as Miami right away but with the right pieces, a couple of seasons down the road, watch out! Not to mention we are a younger core. If he goes to Dallas, bunch of unknown factors. Sure they go after free agents hard but just you don't know.
You believe that do you? after months of considering it, essentially already knowing what each team brought to the table, that there was something more than a few things on the fringes to drastically alter their perception?
I don't think he will either, mainly so he can keep his name in the spotlight as long as possible. I have no doubt he has already made up his mind, but will wait to announce so he is the main topic in the sports world. It would not surprise me if he waited until the 9th or 10th to announce his decision. An attention w**** like Dwight is eating this up.
Sure Phil.... I guess it just wasn't important enough for someone to book you an airplane ticket on Expedia.....
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...ks-dependent-d12+&cd=1&hl=zh-TW&ct=clnk&gl=hk Josh Smith talks dependent on D12? As Tad Brown addressed the Dwight Howard talks, he also talked about the Rockets' meeting with another free agent, Josh Smith. "I think Daryl and Mr. Alexander are always looking for ways to upgrade the team," Brown said. "I think the meeting with Josh went well. Some of our guys, like Gersson (Rosas), have known Josh for a long time. (Smith's agent) Brian Dyke has been a good friend of our organization for a long time. I wouldn't say it's an either/or or a supplement to or anything. I think they understood where the process is right now. He's a very sought-after free agent. He's a great talent and I think those conversations, depending on what happens here with No. 12, those conversations will continue in some form or fashion, depending on what happens." Smith averaged 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals last season with the Hawks.
If Josh Smith makes his decision before Dwight then I'll be worried. Until then I think we're still the favorite.
It doesn't simply mean that. The longer or shorter the decision takes could be good or bad for one team. As a matter of fact, I might go as far as saying that in the end that is 100% true. People guessing which team time favors doesn't mean they think he has already made up his mind and is playing around. Some people think that Houston is such an obvious choice that extra time means he is over thinking it.
The longer he waits, the better for us. Extra time allows you to separate emotion from logic. Objectivity is key. The Rockets are clearly the best fit. 90% of the nation sees it. Hopefully Dwight does too.
Disagree completely. A quick decision means he had his mind made up pretty much before the meetings. Whether that was for or against Houston is the real question. The fact is Howard has been in constant contact with Houston players getting all the inside info. He already knows what he needs to know about the Rockets. The meeting with the Rockets was just the icing on the cake. Who has he been in contact with the Lakers. Not Kobe, not D'Antoni, not the Buss's. Jackson sent him a tweet about a mailbox. Seems to me he doesn't know anything new about the Lakers and the old was not good. On a further note why I think it's not LA is in that meeting everyone was there for themselves with the exception of maybe Nash and Kupchak. Everyone was saying we are better. We win Championships. Houston can't market. You make more money here and Kobe can teach you how to win. Kobe can't teach s hit. the talent he has is God given and only can be taken away with age. He is not a cerebral basketball player. Nope nope, not like Nash. He is a Gad given talent who is losing that gift slowly but surely. All that meeting did was emphasize all the things Howard did not like about the Lakers. It through it all in their face. THe only way the Lakers walk away with Howard is if they walked in that meeting Stan Van Gundy saying we amnestied Kobe and fired D'Antoni. That's the deal. That didn't happen and all that meeting showed was the Lakers said we are not really commited to you but we see that you are a valuable asset and maybe you can contribute to a championship but if not you are a great asset they can be parlayed into a great trade piece latter on down the road.
The longer he waits the more attention he gets. That is what the wait is about, stroking an attentions w****'s ego.
I wonder if Dwight is going to be in the annual Aspen 4th of July parade. I could see him being part of the 50+ Harley Davidson brigade (which usually includes celebrities).
This. I don't expect him to wait forever. GOD, I want to know when the news will come. I have a date tomorrow w/ a Mavs fan and I need to know whether to bail. I should probably bail based solely on the fact that he is a Mavs fan, yes.
Fegan is letting Cuban sell a few more season tickets before the decision is announced. I don't think Dallas is a legitimate threat.
He has to Sell it!!! He can't come off quick and say HOUSTON!! then everyone knows he was just pulling strings and a waste of time... Things are being work on as well speak... Finding a Home. PR. Barber, lol his people is working Dwight been had boots on the ground. His Mentot/Life Coach lives in Pearland. He moved from Orlando back to Houston like 2 years ago.
I'm not a big fan of his personality, but come on: even in our peon lives, we often get a week to decide on a job offer. He's got a handful of whopping offers.
