Oh yeah, forgot about Vasquez and Anderson. They are reasonable starters, but not game changers. In any case, with their current core (including Evans) they are completely capped out, and that's with Davis still on his rookie contract. They can be a solid team built somewhat like last season's Rockets: big guys (Davis) in the middle with a team of shooters around him. They'll have Davis instead of Asik, which is an upgrade, but then Reke can't shoot 3s. Can you imagine the Rockets offense if you had to camp one of the wing players 15 ft from the basket instead of at the 3? It's a major problem.
I still don't get it from New Orleans' end, but I think Sacramento is wise to part ways and let him walk at this point.
My theory: The Hornets have no intention of bringing Gordon back and wanted to make sure they had a replacement. Greivis will be moved to backup PG or traded.
gosh, it seems to some of you almost every player in the nba are only supposed to get 100k a year when they sign their deals. just because in your opinions they don't "pass" the way you want them to, or they have more than 2 tattoos on their arm, all they seem to be worth is the league minimum or perhaps even be out of the league. some of you seem to think that in the game only defense matters, and if they are horrible at offense but can speak like a politician in interviews, and of course they have to be white, then all of a sudden you are okay with them getting the max. meanwhile if they are all-world, all-star level and extremely talented and skilled, but they like to speak in ebonics and show emotions in public, and possibly black, they are deemed to be "immature", "thug", "character issues", and they are to be avoided at all costs.
I don't give a flying **** about a players race, I care about results. I care about wins. And paying a ball dominant guy who ccan't shoot from deep and is ineffective at the two that much money is not conductive to wins. If tyreke were white or green or purple Id say the same thing.
Earlier this morning it was reported that the Sacramento Kings would not match the offer sheet presented to Tyreke Evans by the New Orleans Pelicans and that the two sides were in the process of working out a trade. Initial reports had both Greivis Vasquez and Robin Lopez coming back to the Kings, but according to Sam Amick of USA Today, the trade now could become a three team deal.
