Yup. As I think someone already pointed out, the Steve Nash to the Lakers deal broke last July 4. Needless to say, it got plenty of press. :)

Steve is Canadian. It's ok for him to slap America in the face.

Dwight knows how miserable it was being Kobe's teammate this year. And he knows that it will be a lot worse next year.

Kobe is going to be frustrated missing the beginning of the season with an injury. And he is going to be really frustrated when he comes back, and he's not playing like he used to because of his injury. Guess who he is going to take that frustration out on?

Kobe's pitch is: Play with me next year, I'll treat you like Scottie Pippen:

The truth is: Play with Kobe next year, he'll treat you like Kwame Brown:

Oh, and as someone just posted on Twitter, the Carlos Lee trade also happened last July 4. If Dwight picks us today, July 4 could go down as one of the best days in Houston sports history.

The only two "sources" that matter to me point in the same direction.

    1. Does anyone believe Daryl Morey to be an idiot? Reckless and arrogant? Has he had a history of any such behavior? No. He has a history of diligence, steady handed, and mostly keeps things close to the vest. His recent show of confidence, bordering on cockiness is in stark contrast to any of his prior demeanor. Unless you believe he has gone off the rocker, it is clear that he knows something we don't, or at a minimum has gotten some indication.

    2. When I bet on HOU as Dwight's destination 3 days ago( mostly due to 1.) my line was +140. Their championship odds were 22:1. Since then, the +140 has dropped to even money. Championship odds are now 15:1, ahead of teams like Memphis and Indiana. Following the money is as good as any "source" in these cases.

I know there is a whole lot of noise, anxiety and multiple sources around these parts, but to anyone paying attention to what really matters, it is quite clear where Dwight will end up.

Absolutely nothing new. He doesn't know if LA made up ground or if the Rockets or Mavericks are the choice... Hell he doesn't even know if today is when he decides. Instead of wasting our time, he needs to just say "no one is saying anything."

Just an interesting observation (nothing more than an observation!)... hoopshype does a pretty good job of keeping up to date with the rumors. They usually have a headline rumor with the player's picture on the front.

I have noticed that A LOT of the time, the other person guarding that person is also in a lot of trade rumors or has been traded shortly after.

If you look right now, hoopshype has a picture up about (or supposed to be about) Robin Lopen and Greivis Vasquez, but the picture looks to be highlighting Lin. I know Lin's name has been brought up a time or two, so it's not a huge surprise.

    Just Linteresting, that's it.

Guys just thought I could give you something in my personal life that can relate to Dwight's situation.

I had been in a dead end job, but was getting really great experience. I started looking for a job went on several interviews. Started working with recruiters and going where they suggested. Missed out on a great job just barely that was far and above the others (Brooklyn).

So now I had 3 more jobs that wanted me.

    1. High risk/high reward upstart business with extreme flexibility with hours and schedule. Same pay as my current job salary wise but the commission could be far above all job but it wasnt guaranteed. But the freedom really intrigued me. (Houston)

    2. Highest salary job, great benefits, longer vacation and possibity to move high up the corporate ladder. But would have a very heavy workload, longer hours, and strict schedule with traveling a lot. (Lakers)

    3. Was kinda of in between the two.... Went through interview process but never really wanted to go this route. (Dallas)

Up until the day I chose I was going back in forth... Weighing wether I wanted to go the safe route or if I was willing to take the risk on the job that would make me most happy...take a pay cut, remove the safety net, and make less guaranteed money just to do something i enjoyed.

I made myself sick stressing over this, and of course 90% of the people I know kept telling me to take the highest paying one..but finally when it came time I chose where I felt I would be most happy no 1.

So I can understand Howard's waivering...I am sure Dallas , and la sold the business stuff really well, better then he expected. But when it comes down to it ... More money won't make him happy. Having fun with fun teammates and winning will. Championships will also bring money.

So in the end I think Howard will do the same thing. Everyone in league saw how much fun our team was having.

    Just wanted to share that.

Agreed on both points. The only reasons why people here are uncertain because it's Dwight and because it's the Lakers. However, there have been no indications of anyone beating what Houston can offer and Dwight has reportedly been favoring Houston for months if you believe cyberx.

I've made that same Morey point to my dad after the meeting occurred. Sure Dwight might do something random, but if you trust Morey and his history then you have to trust his extreme confidence with the Dwight situation. It would be very "un-Moreylike" to dump Thomas Robinson if he wasn't supremely confident that Dwight was coming here.

More likely to do with Vasquez and Lopez, are are reportedly going to be traded for Tyreke Evans.
