I hope all those Chinese Reporters out there don't say anything on their websites.

You don't want to jinx anything and any speculation or rumor is pre-mature.

You misunderstood me. I meant Mavericks would have to sign him to the max (even though I don't think they get him), so what's the point of using other teams as leverage?

    There is none.

Nah, I read your sarcasm fine.

I was just making up a scenario that would make Kobe following Cuban relevant to this Dwight stuff.

I'm thinking if I'm the Lakers, I'd rather have the cap space than Lopez.

lol. But is that for real did Kobe Bryant choose to follow Mark Cuban now?

that is very odd. Considering the whole Amnesty That thing that went on between them in the regular season.

So is that legit Kobe following Cuban?

Certainly Morey would not divulge his secrets but he doesn't need to vocalize lies either. I think the reality is Lin was an option if they could get another replacement pg and clearly tradeable if it meant signing CP3. But as some options disappeared and other options appeared it became clear to Morey that it was wiser for him to keep Lin and not trade him for some other player that not fit as well.

Of course everyone is on the block and that includes Harden. Yes Morey would trade Harden for Durant or Lebron in heartbeat. So Lin and Asik or available for the right price but Morey is smarter than anyone on this board and knows what's available and he is pretty confident that no one is offering the right players to improve this team more than staying put.

That could change tomorrow but I think Morey is genuine in his statement. So basically Morey is saying we are not going to offer up Lin and Asik for Josh Smith or anyone else if we sign Howard. And I agree with Morey. While I have been an advocate for Josh Smith for a while because I think he helps this time out in many ways and wouldn't cost any players. I have never considered him a good fit with Howard. He is a bad free throw shooter and has a bad shot selection. But worse is the one area where his shooting excels is exactly the same area Howard excells. That clogs the middle and with Lin and Harden driving down the middle the key to defending Houston is just cheat off of Smith and defend the block.

That is exactly the wrong way to use Howard. You need Kevin Love or Ryan Anderson or Ilyasova or hopefully DMo. Smith can hit open threes better than his percentage if he sticks to catch and shoot situations but he doesn't stick to anything so far so not sure he would change his game if he came here. So I don't think Morey wants Smith here with Howard in spite of what some are reporting. I do think Morey has Josh Smith as our plan B and in on that. But that still does not involve trading Lin or Asik.

So IMO Morey sees Lin and Asik unavailable at this point as much as Harden. That could change in a second if CP3 became available. Funny how when CP3 became unavailable Morey makes this statement. But for now Lin and Asik are Rockets. Anything could change before trade deadline next year.

I'm skeptical myself, but there's nothing else to do. So what's up with the Dallas rumors?

    They probably had a conversation.

    Cuban: Heard anything on Dwight?
Kobe: Yeah, that ***** goin' to Houston.
    Cuban: ****!
Kobe: I told him he could be my Tyson Chandler, how do you pass that up?
Cuban: Really? We told him the same thing. We could use another Tyson...
    Kobe: Yeah...
    Cuban: ****....I hate ******* Houston.
Kobe: You alright though...you alright...what's your twitter?
