Start out with P90 first. That's what i'm doing. I didn't want to jump into P90X bc i knew i'd get burned out and not keep up with it. P90 is a lot easier to follow 6 days a week to get in good shape after 90 days and then you can move up to P90X. I use resistance bands instead of dumbbells as well. I haven't really been following any strict diet though. Just trying to be active every day.

Yep. I was in super bad shape and it was hard but it didn't feel impossible like other programs. By the first week, the workouts weren't very hard for me at all and are almost cake in week 3 and having to do extra workouts along with it.

Unless you are in just terrible shape I would just jump right into p90x, there are people who do it who can't even start off with a single pullup. One person in the video will always have a modified version that you should be able to do. The big thing for most people is keeping their heartrate up for long periods of time. So if you already have some fitness just do p90x. Do not jump right into p90x2 though, definitely a lot more intense.

After I read this post I did some research and that's right! It's been recently debunked and it doesn't increase metabolism. It did work for me, though.

Let him feel whats right. Even if its easy, it could be better for him to do P90 bc he'll be able to stick with it as a routine.

i lost 7 lbd so far...and its taken me a whole 3 months to do it. for reference i am 5'1, female and my initial goal was to lose 22 lbs..i have 15 more to go. I am doing a combination of cardio/strength training 6 days a week for 45 mins to an hour. I recently started watching my diet and have seen faster results. I am motivated by the fact that I am a size 6 now but still want to lose the extra 15.. my goal is to wear a bikini on a cruise I have scheduled for November. No doubt I will get thetr. Good luck and when u hit a plateau up the intensity/add a different type of cardio (I recently started spinning classes).. u can do it!! believe u can and work hard.. dont lose your motivation, always remember the WHY..

I ballooned up to 198, I'm 5'10. Lost 28 pounds from December to April. Gained 5 since, gotta get back on the routine.
