I hope we get him, but will not freak out if we don't get him.

I don't understand why Dwight wouldn't make his decision immediately, regardless of what team he chooses-- he's keeping teams from signing potential role players that could thrive in a system with Dwight... Correct me if I'm wrong, and I haven't read the past page 260 but...

The Mavs, per BimaThug, currently does not have the cap space to sign Dwight unless they unload Marion's contract and take back minimal salary, or unload VC and sign Larkin to a lessor rookie scale. There's no guarantee that there'd be a suitor for either, even though Marion could be used as a nice expiring for the upcoming free agency.

The Warriors would have to complete a S&T with the Lakers, which might not be something the Lakers would want to pursue. Honestly if Dwight were to agree to join the Warriors, which wouldn't make much sense in a winning and money standpoint, I don't see why the Lakers wouldn't agree. AFAIK, they only have Nash on contract for 2014, and receiving Bogut as an expiring and Klay and/or Barnes would be a growing prospect. They would then use the team option on either, depending on who they receive, and still have cap room to sign a big name in the 2014 free agency, after the resigning of Kobe.

I have no idea what the Hawks expect out of this. I can't see Dwight wanting to go to the Hawks, even if that is his hometown. The only formidable player they have is Horford, who I do believe is a liiittttllleeee undervalued. Teague was extended a qualifying offer, but I can't see him being offered a hefty sum since the teams who were in dire need of a PG addressed those issues. If he does decide to sign there, they would have to sign Smith back, at Dwight's request, and form a Big 3 of Smith, Horford, and Dwight at the 3/4/5? I still don't see that team getting very far. Would Smith really wait for Dwight to make his decision and leave money on the table? Would he really wait if the Pistons DO offer a max contract?

I mean I understand it's essentially between us and the Lakers, but from what I've heard via Twitter and articles about the chances of him joining the Mavs and whatnot, I find that extremely hard to believe..... right?

Maybe he's already told the team he's going to and not telling the others anything so he can hurt the competition.

Woj tweet sounds like it could be pertaining to the Lakers since they didn't sound too confident about the meeting. At least not the Rockets since they were confident to the point of cockiness.

I don't think Howard went into all of these meetings without "leaning" a certain way. Think about all the decisions you make in life, you may be wide open to options, but you are going to initially lean a certain way, have preferences.

Did any of these meetings changes his mind? Or widen the gap. We'll see.

Look around, its obvious to everyone that Houston has the best "basketball" reasons to join up. I think it almost will come down to "inertia" for Howard. Is he willing to change or just "stay put" because it would be easier to do so.

i subscribed, and was able to watch it quickly...

hakeem just said houston has the right pieces for dwight to mesh with us..

the whole pitch to dwight addressed his concerns

hakeem said that he's 85% confident he will sign with Houston

    hopefully he's right.

I said it before and I'll say it again: it really doesn't matter what it SEEMS like Dwight's leaning towards because this guy's one of the most indecisive dudes to play the game. In his head one moment it's oh LA's a cool city, oh Houston has an already built team to win, oh Mavs has .... Dirk? oh but LA's tradition, but Houston's got Slim Thug... and so on and so on.

I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if he somehow ended up on a team that wasn't in the "picture."

Additional thoughts: if he was already decided on re-signing with the Lakers, would he have taken this long to announce it?
