Trying to be unbiased here but the Rockets are just so much more of a safe bet than the Lakers for Dwight. You're right they can't PROMISE that a big name free agent like Lebron will sign with LA so why risk rebuilding with them? We have our pieces in place already for several years. That's got to be important to him if the reports about winning now are true.
Yeah, but Dwight, listen here. This is just like the Lakers fans, aka the worst sports fans in the world. Just like they take your banner down as soon as the meeting's over, they will show up late to the game, desert you in the fourth quarter, rip you when you have an injury, and forget you the moment you retire. Look at what Houston thinks of the Dream, man. That is real heartfelt currency that you cannot ever have or buy in LaLa land.
why doesn't morey just 1up the Lakers and talk to Phil and put him in a front office role? Then checkmate game over. Decision made.
I truly don't understand taking them down. Money is not an object for them. And hypothetically, let's say it is and they don't want to pay for the ones around the city. There's no reason to take the one down on the Staples Center. Just leave it up... It's already paid for and not hurting anyone. I feel like LA thinks it's out of the game.
Simple as that Rockets need to call Phil Jackson he has already expressed interest to do some sort of front office job. Put him in the front office for the rockets and I can guarantee you Dwight would come no questions asked.
Thank You. Han Solo, stop showing your true colors by posting homosexual gifs just because you think the situation allows for it. Nobody here wants to see that...on a basketball forum.
Taking them down, in case he says "no". All those billboards would piss off everyone in LA if they had to see them, even though he already left.
ahh the jeanie buss issue complicates the situation a little. But he does wear the pants in the relationship so he is his own man.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Still teams interested in further making their cases to Dwight Howard, but appears he's shutting it all down to decide now, sources tell Y!</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/statuses/352482830619643905">July 3, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
He should announce his decision on a one-on-one TV broadcast spot (ala Lebron) right from the Staples Center...only to say he is coming to Houston. He should wear a bullet proof vest, too.
Agreed! Another reason WHY HOWARD SHOULD LEAVE. If Howard stays and the Lakers lose it will be "Howard's fault" and if they win it will be because of "Kobe." That's how it will look and WHY he needs to break away and start fresh on HIS TEAM in Houston.
Honestly, it seems like he took most of these meeting just to be polite. I think his mind was made up beforehand.
I understand you have to take them down either way (stays or leaves) but why not wait till he has announced his decision?
