They need to just tank this year and hope they get Wiggins. No need to overpay for Iggy.

I love how most FAs are waiting on the Rockets and Howard. Can't blame Iggy who'd want to play for the Pistons?

Nobody would give more than a second rounder or very late first for PPat, that's why the T-Rob trade was absolute win in all fronts and Carl Herrera was butthurt for no reason and has become disliked by most CFers.

I'm confused. Did Sacramento make an offer and then withdraw it only three hours later?

"We're offering you 4 years, $56 million. How's that sound?"

"Well, it sounds good, let me think ab---"

    "PSYCHE!"

What a screwed-up organization. The drunkest Maloof must have woke up and found out what the others were offering. "Did he sign? Rescind it! Rescind it! Are you crazy? That's my Vegas gambling money!"

That's exactly how it happened so I hear. They basically said you have this offer on the table and we want a decision right now. Iggy stated that he wanted to take some time to think about it and they pulled the offer.

Maybe there's something we don't know but this definitely sounds shady.

It could also be a great example of why the Kings are the Kings.

The Kings are run by new people now so I don't think I can compare the old Kings from the new Kings. I do think they have something planned but are impatient at the same time.

I was shocked but is Iggy worth 14mil/year? I didn't really watch the nuggets but his averages weren't as good as people hoped.

Because this story is so interesting, I checked out the Kings board to see what really happened. Supposedly, Iggy had no intention of signing with the Kings, and only went there to jack up the price for Denver. When the Kings realized how they were being used as leverage, they withdrew their offer. Also, supposedly the offer was only 4yr/$52mil, but Iggy's agent put it out there as 4yr/$56mil.

Overall it just seems like the Kings felt Iggy's agent wasn't negotiating in good faith, so they pulled out all together. I can't say I blame them if this version of the story is true. And quite frankly, if I were a Kings fan, I'd be quite happy right now.

Going public/leaking that you are pulling the offer is stupid. Sacramento should have used it to their advantage and let Denver increase their offer, hence wrecking their cap situation further.

if you're overpaying a guy, then you can give him a 30 minute window to decide. I'm betting he regrets not saying yes on some level. He probably lost at least 10 million dollars by sitting that offer. And the Kings are allowed to be offended- "Wait, we're offering you that much and you still have to think about it? Too bad."

Makes the Kings look pretty stupid nonetheless.

Good for the Kings. They were being used as leverage and they called Iggy's bluff. Solid.
