Great job ClutchFans community! Thanks for the update and info, Clutch. Someone compared this site to Lakersground. I want to comment on that. No disrespect to Lakersground, but there is no comparison. Clutch and this site have been at pretty much full bore since the internet was basically newsgroups and IRC chat. I know, I've been active on the internet since around 1992-3. There were two places I would go for information and discussion on the internet in the mid to late 1990's. Clutch City/Clutch Fans and a newsgroup called rec.sport.basketball.pro. That was it; that was the list. Clutch was so far ahead of his time, man, just blew everyone away. That's why everyone in the NBA respects Clutch and this site. We're blessed, folks. Be thankful Clutch was a Rockets fan or else we would be in the wilderness.
As long as Kobe is there, they're the LA Kobes not the LA Lakers, and I think that's what is pushing Dwight away. He doesn't want to be a sidekick, he wants to be an equal.
WE'RE NOT GOING TO SLEEP TONIGHT BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src="http://assets0.ordienetworks.com/images/GifGuide/dancing/boratgroupdance5is.gif">
It didn't even say hes actually meeting with Dwight, just his people. I don't think Dwight would show up in Houston before he makes his official decision.
Yeah, true. Look, a lot of guys around the league don't like Kobe. Does anyone remember Kobe trash talking LeBron in a game this past season? You really think LeBron -- who is better than Kobe clearly at this point in their careers -- want to help that guy win more rings so people can keep saying "Kobe > LeBron?" Not just no, hell no. LeBron has worked his entire career to shut people up about Kobe being better than him. That's not a guy he's helping win another ring. Again, the discussion now about "Who will come to the Lakers in 2014?", from the Laker homers/media side, is being done to try to entice Dwight to come back because the Lakers are going to land so many good players in 2014. It's a smoke screen. A stunt. A gimmick. Dwight knows it. His team knows it. It will have a minimum effect, at best, on his decision. And if Dwight wants to hear LeBron or LeBron's people tell him LeBron isn't going to LA in 2014, I'm quite sure Dwight or his team could make that call.
Lol, if true this is the weirdest and most unexpected way I'd ever thought to hear early confirmation.
Clutch, if Dwight really does land here, are you ready for the one thing you haven't had as the founder of the best basketball forum in the world? Fair weather local Houston Rockets fans joining up? I've been a fan since blah blah blah... I just joined, but I liked the Rockets since 95'... I just love the Rockets, they have the best uniforms. Do you remember the pjs with the awesome-o mean smile? No. Four million Houstonians catching the wave... it's going to be sweet!
Just curious is this the biggest thread in clutchfans history. If not which thread is the largest thread here post the link? It is the largest it should be archived into the epic category at the very least.
Quick, someone get word from other team barbers to see if Dwight is sending "people" to them as well. This might just be the second round of meetings.
