I think D12 is now seriously comtemplating signing with us. This will give him and his posse a chance to re-visit Houston. Ok, gents, be really nice to him and bring out the best broads!

Maybe the barber is not indicative that he has made the decision....maybe his decision is riding how good of a job this barber does....

I said earlier in the thread that Ken Berger was a Kobe/Lakers homer. Some people wondered why I said that.

Because I have read a lot of Berger and I knew something like this was coming in a last-ditch attempt to "write" Howard back to LA:

    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/...asy-way-out-of-la-or-stay-and-become-a-legend

It's a desperate column, maybe even delusional. The last thing LeBron James wants to do is help Kobe Bryant win another ring. So, you can cross LeBron off the list for the Lakers in 2014, unless Kobe has retired.

Anyways, Berger -- echoing what I have been saying consistently in this thread -- knows the Lakers won't be contenders next year. He knows Houston will be better.

So, he goes for the "2014" card, the "Lakers legacy" card, and the "taunt Dwight" card.

I believe Berger cares primarily about Kobe, as I said earlier in the thread. What Berger knows is that if Howard leaves, the future looks very dim for Kobe. Kobe needs Howard in LA to try to recruit free agents in 2014.

Berger used to absolutely rip Howard right up until Dwight signed with LA. Then, all was forgiven. Why did Berger rip Howard? Because, I think, Howard made Kobe look bad by exposing the disastrous "Tyson Chandler" recruiting debacle.

However, if the Lakers struggle and Howard is still there, Howard will once again feel Berger's wrath for Howard "making" Kobe look bad. Howard can't win, unless he leads the Lakers to the promised land, where he will then give up any hope of getting credit as it will be given to another person at that time.

The nastiness in Berger's taunts of Howard, how Howard would be 'throwing it all away' to leave LA, is exactly the reason why Howard probably wants out of LA. As long as you are around LA and Kobe is there, you have to put up with this.

There is no clarity at all that anyone will want to play for the Lakers in 2014. Carmelo Anthony? Sure, he and Kobe are friends. LeBron? No. Again, the last thing LeBron is going to do at this point in his career is put himself in a spot where he helps Kobe look good. LeBron wants to eclipse Kobe, not help Kobe win more rings.

Dwight only has to deal with this heckling one more time, for one more choice. Berger says Howard can show loyalty, the Clippers really aren't so good (hey, if LAC got Doc, what will the Lakers do next summer with a lot of money?), etc.

It's all a house of cards.

The sooner Dwight gets away from that scene, away from Kobe, the faster things will get better for him and the faster he can put people like Ken Berger in his rear-view mirror.

Berger, like the Lakers, is selling a pipe dream. Faerie dust. Dwight knows better, after what he went through last year.

This isn't your father's Lakers. It's not Jim Buss' father's Lakers, either.

The Clippers are better. Houston is better. 2014 is uncertain for LA and the Lakers were ripped for their desperate billboard "Stay!" campaign to try to retain Dwight. Kobe Bryant will be 36 years old and in his 19th season for the 2014-15 campaign.

I will say this, though: The good thing about Dwight and his inner circle, including people like Jared Rudolph, is that they know the various writers' agendas. They know who is helping them and who is looking to take shots at them. They won't be fazed by Berger's column.

Berger's column is not intended for them, despite its supposed advice to Dwight. It's intended for the public at large, intended to start a thought process, a meme, a snowball that will force Howard to return to LA.

I knew where Berger's thinking was at. There's a reason he has put down Houston's chances to land Howard all during this process. And the reason is simple: He doesn't want Howard to leave Kobe and LA.

Berger is a good reporter, when it comes to passing along information. But he has his own agendas, as do all reporters. Some have more obvious agendas than others.

So when you listen to these reporters, even when they are passing along "objective" information, it's best to understand what their agenda is.

There was a reason why Berger was downplaying Houston in all of this. And in this latest column by Berger, you can see what that reason is.

Haha funny stuff LA, have a video with celebrities and artists saying they want him to stay, perhaps even promising they can be in a movie together :p I really want to see it, especially Jack Nicholson's part, he probably went all 'Few good men / Anger mangement' on him, screaming and ****

All signs points towards him leaving, all the media are really not too confident about him staying in LA and trying to make it sound good that the meeting was short(er). What's up with all the non-basketball stuff though, why is that even allowed?? Might as well bring entertainment park owners, big car dealership owners, Microsoft representatives, Howard Stern and Ron Jeremy in there to give him everything for free.

We should've brought Ho Chen to say "we from the Asian community can offer you free fireworks, rice, machine guns, dragons, dungeons, sushi and shrimp rolls for life! Then playstation representatives - just to counter Microsoft siding with LA - can offer him access to all online content, part in a DBZ game etc. Then George Bush can offer him a free tour of his ranch and the promise of sharing state secrets with him. Some Ford dealers offer him free trucks, big rims the whole 9 yards. And to top it off: NASA representatives to offer him a free ride into outer space :grin:

Either that or his tweet will be deleted...if so then that would confirm it...

I see Laker fans think this is like that realtor but it's not. This guy is really Harden's/Rockets barber, one trip to his twitter account would tell you that.

That's not happening, as I said in my previous post.

The "LeBron to the Lakers in 2014" is being sold hard, at this time, to try to entice Dwight to stay. As in "you will get to play with LeBron."

The only way you will see LeBron on the Lakers in 2014-15 is if Kobe is retired. There's a slim chance LBJ could go there if Dwight is there. But if Dwight is not there, there is no chance.

This is a game, being played by people who want Howard to stay in LA. It's a shell game, a scam.
