You really can't be that naive, can you? You know what the NBA stands for?

GM's will use double talk or they just won't answer the question. There are ways of saying things without saying them. Morey however made a pretty pointblank statement

As much as Lin struggled last year, I am willing to give him another chance. As much as I would prefer to keep Asik here, when you lose a big man in a deal (J. Smith), you are usually more concerned about how to replace him so I think it goes without question that Atlanta would expect Asik in the deal no matter what. Lin I doubt they want so we have to figure that the remainder of the salary will come from somewhere else like the 2 recently acquired 2nd round draft picks from Portland along with cash considerations. If Les is REALLY willing to go over the luxury tax line, he may need to keep Kin around to keep the China sales pouring in. I think the marketing of Lin on a super team could put Rockets sales through the roof and offset the extra cost in luxury tax.

Who has decided Rockets would be first to get a meeting with Howard? Rockets or Howard?

If its Howard, thats clearly mean he is interested more about Rockets.

Think about it: Atlanta has Teague and Lou Williams. Is Lin so much better than those guys that Atlanta would want to move one of those guys for him? Lou Williams is probably getting paid peanuts (he had a breakout year last year). I doubt Atlanta would instead want Lin's big contract.

Bro, never put arrows and greater than symbols together. A lot of people here aren't smart enough to distinguish the difference...

That made me laugh. But do you truly think Howard is Olowokandi compared to Hakeem?

what is with all the JSmith hype? The real question is not JSmith or Asik and Lin but JSmith and all the FA available at the end of 2014 season. I think the better plan is to hold out for a 4 that is a real game changer. Adding JSmith will not get the team to the finals.

I prefer trading Asik for LaMarcus Adridge than J Smith.

Which 2014 free agent PF is more of a game changer than Josh Smith? Also, if you don't make the trade now, and keep both Asik and Lin, you still won't have cap room to chase a big time 2014 free agent.

And why would Portland do that...

The 2014 fa class has one prize..........Lebron. And he will most likely stay with Miami. Bosh and Gasol are probably the two best pf free agents. Gasol is old and Bosh is good but probably stays with Miami as well. Cousins will be restricted and most likely retained by Sacramento. Aldridge and Love are not free agents until after 2015 I think and both will be extremely hard to get. How long is the front office willing to hold out? They probably would rather just pair Smith with Harden, Howard, etc. and go for it now. They'll have a four year window with Harden and Howard if they get him.

Adding him and Howard to Harden to form a trio will.

That's about what I thought when I read that. This is a negotiation. He's trying to drive up the value of his players. And he did so by saying Asik has value to us, right now, with Dwight. If you say the guy is a waste of a roster spot now that we have Dwight, teams will low-ball you.

Morey 1, people that think this is lying or foul play 0

Let's take a look at those PFs available next summer, shall we?
    • Dirk Nowitzki - Says he wants to finish his career in Dallas.
    • Chris Bosh - Last week he said he wants to finish his career in Miami.
    • Pau Gasol - Degenerative knees...
    • Amare Stoudemire - Career is pretty much over...
    • Zach Randolph - The Only Valid Option

So... would you prefer a 29-year old Josh Smith this year? Or wait one whole year, and sign a 33-year old Zach Randolph next year? Because Randolph is the only realistic option available next summer.
