Now only if we could get someone like Phil Jackson who is very cerebral and tactical to lead the helm; I would say they could go far with that collection of players.

I did watch Hakeem play. I've followed this team since I can remember. Granted, I was only six years old when we won the title for the first time. And I admit not seeing Hakeem throughout the 1980's does put me at a disadvantage when looking at the Howard vs. Olajuwon comparison.

Your argument is pointless..... Want to know why? Because Dwight Howard will never and I mean never be as good as Hakeem..... With that said, yes Howard is eons away from ever reaching Hakeem or even being close to Hakeem...... I remember a tall Chinese fella who destroyed Howard more than a couple of times and he was also eons away from Hakeem..... Don't argue this, its pointless and you are eons away from anyone taking you serious..... I want Dwight because he is the best we can get. Not because he is one of the best to ever live.....

You didn't at all. We are all die hard rockets fans right?? I'm just sayin the level of competition during Hakeem's era to Howard's isn't even comparable. Dwight is better then any center in the NBA today and that is obvious, but Hakeem in his prime would own Dwight today. Ewing is a prime example.

Rape? No. Lol. That terminology is too strong. Defeat most of the time? Yes. I'd take Ewing and Robinson over Howard also without question. Even guys like Smits, Mutombo, Mourning, et cetera would challenge Howard. But that is not bashing Howard because all of these guys were pretty darn good.

I've never said Dwight is one of the best to ever live. I just believe that when it comes to talent that he is not eons away. When I see eons I think of the gap between Kobe in his prime to Sasha Vujacic. But this is argument is pointless as you said. I wish I hadn't even said anything.

This is where Lin's bad contract really stings.

If he had any value we could move him for a slightly larger contract then flip the larger contract to Atlanta for a SnT of Smith, with a sweetener (d-mo and maybe a pick) allowing us to keep Asik.

A big rotation of Smith, Jones, Howard and Asik is insane.

Hopefully Morey can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

The Rockets still haven't signed Dwight, so its too early to say. Why would you want to get Smith(2nd forward) assuming you sign Dwight? Asik will play center so the rockets wouldn't need Josh Smith ---they already have Terrence Jones.

Hakeem owned guys like Ewing, Shaq, Robinson at times so of course he would own Howard at times. I just don't think Howard is a scrub if you were to place him in that era. I think he'd still be up there with the top five.

Dwight Howard is stronger than Hakeem was, Hakeem had a slender upper body

We would need to do a 3 team deal where hawks take Asik, someone else takes Lin, and we get Smoove. We would probably have to include a player with Asik for salary matching. You may be able to get Calderon for Lin if you include a pick or two.

Pretty sure mentioning blocks as the defining feature of defense was the dumbest thing in this thread.

Asik 1.0 blocks for a 7 footer?? Damn he's terrible at defense!
