Some say it was the longest meeting of the bunch. Nothing else news worthy.

    About the Smith+Dwight signing:

If you want to do regular signings of both guys, then you'd most likely need to trade away both Lin and Asik for little salary in return.

If you can convince Atlanta to do a S&T, however, you can probably just trade away one of them plus a couple smaller salaries (White, DMo, Jones).

Which way is preferable depends on what other teams would offer for Asik or Lin, either separately or together and, of course, whether Atlanta is amenable to a S&T.

Anyhow, smart for Morey to at least explore his options.

If we are to assume it is the same Lin from last season, not only will he be bad at 3's, but he will finish at the rim @ 50%. Brewer at least gets it done at the rim.

Sounds like she wants Jim to take all the blame if Dwight leaves.

Wow. I didn't realize that happened.

So, no Phil and no Jeanie.

    Symbolic message?

One thing that is really important that has not been mentioned much. And it may not be relevant, based upon what Doc Rocket said (System and coach not the real problem for Dwight with LA), but it can give you an idea of where the Lakers top brass is at in their thinking.

It has been said that it was Dr Buss' decision to hire D'Antoni, in a hope of bringing back "Showtime" with the run and gun offense.

This idea was said, I think, in order to kind of let Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak "off the hook" for the D'Antoni hire.

Well, Dr Buss is no longer with us. Dwight's camp has said he doesn't want to play for D'Antoni. And D'Antoni appears to be going nowhere.

So, nowhere to run now for Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak. The decision to keep on D'Antoni is all yours.

I'm sure Dwight and his camp know that very well.

I really don't think there's a place for ***** like this here. I've seen this line so many times and it's just tasteless, unintelligent, overdone, and devoid of any comedic value.

If you disagree with her or want to crack a joke then make it about something she has done or said.

Very different from the Houston approach. I wonder if the players and coaches meeting individually with Dwight means they are all not on the same page? How does this work strategically?

    Do what Miami does.

Sign vets on the cheap, and dig up diamonds in the rough.

Rip Hamilton and Jermaine O'Neal could be had for cheap. We'd still have Bev and Motie/Jones. Garcia may come back as well.

If we get those three, Leslie won't hesitate to spend some dough.

    Lin/Bev
    Harden/Hamilton
    Parsons/Brewer
    Smith/Motiejunas
    Howard/O'Neal

    That's a hell of a rotation.

They already have Teague. They'd probably want Asik and then they'd move Horford to pf.

All 3 of those guys had "apologies" to make to Dwight. Kobe for the rift, calling Dwight out, all of that. Nash for calling Dwight out on the shoulder thing and playing, I think. MDA for, well, being MDA and not running the offense through Dwight.

In other words, their were wounds to try to heal there.

For Houston, no wounds to heal. So, not as important to meet separately.
