J.R. already has a lifetime contract with Clutchfans. No deal.

As long as he can accept a smaller role, then sure. We cant let JR run around and shoot bricks like he did a year ago.

After K mart got $7 mill to start, no way J.R. takes a similar deal to come off a bench

I don't even think we would have enough cap room to sign J.R. Smith after a hypothetical Dwight signing. Unless he takes a HUGE pay cut.

Doubt that the Rockets have a chance if they sign Dwight. Won't have the cap room to offer a contract comparable to his Knicks offer-- they can of course clear cap space, but even then is the best use of cap space and assets a backup SG to Harden?

Smith likely gets more elsewhere. Rockets probably expressed interest just in case everything falls through for him and he had to take a cheap deal (like the Bonzi Wells situation).

JR jacking up shots....hell no. Okay...maybe he does fit this team's offense....actually he's PERFECT...but i hate that he keeps jacking up shots and ballhogging destroying team chemistry.

oh. Yeah. Because that would make sense....somehow.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets were indeed looking into it -- it seems they go after a lot of people just for information gathering purposes.

The remind me of the Ptolemaic agents who worked for the Library of Alexandria who would feign interest in copying every important manuscript in the ancient world and would then just steal it to add it to their collection.

Morey's mind goes after information like some sort of unthinking parasitic organism -- it is pretty cool.

JR Smith has the dumbest shot selection in NBA history. He's also the stupidest most selfish self centered player I can remember.

    I'll pass:(

J.R. Smith is part of plan B. That's all nothing more. The Rockets could probably clear enough cap to sign Josh Smith outright and the n another SnT for maybe a 5 mil man by trading an asset like Greg smith and Royce plus a draft pick and cash to get a decent player. Nothing but a 2 mil exception is available or a similar snt deal that could net us a 4 mil guy maybe.
