This may sound obvious that this is what Dwight wants, but I'm not sure this would definitely get him to resign. For one, I don't think Phil is coming back. And secondly, Dwight does NOT want to be known as the player who constantly gets other coaches fired. He doesn't want that reputation. Neither did CP3, which is why he was upset when reports were saying he was the reason why Vinny Del Negro got fired.
Well, he did in a way--but his answer should not be understood as an absolute deceleration that they will not trade Lin or Asik (or both). He said he was not shopping them and that Asik would not need to be traded. Ok, I agree they do not need to be traded and that Morey does not have trading them as a priority that needs to occur. But how many times have we seen him come out and say he is not going to trade someone, and then when that person is traded Morey explains that he was not trying to trade them, but team X offered such a great deal he could not refuse. This will be the same thing. If Howard is acquired, other teams are going to start calling for Asik (who is awesome and has tons of value), and one of those deals will be good enough to where Morey will pull the trigger. And then he will be in front of all of us explaining how he hates to lose Asik, but this trade was too good to pass up...and the thing is, he won't be lying. He isn't really lying now. But we know how this stuff plays out, right?
