If Dwight signs with Houston, this guy will look like a tool bag. The amount of tweets he sent out trashing houston was hilarious!
Lordy. Is thing being over hyped or what? It's amazing to me that this has been going on in Houston FOR YEARS! If he comes here and IF he is happy and healthy we will be better but to act like he's the second coming of (insert favorite all time center here) is fantasy.
Got a call from my friend at Nordstrom, someone put in an order for two-dozen extra, extra, extra long, super-almost-unnecessarily-slim cardigan sweaters in various bright colors, a bow tie and one of those robotic dogs.
I don't think he has a clue....he is being a straight homer. Typical ESPN move, spouting out randomness to get attention? Seems so.
He's actually complimented Houston. Called it a "beautiful city" and a "great landing spot" for Dwight.
OK...I will not post CP anymore. I thought it would keep the masses entertained. He also stated that he would be present in the meeting between DH and the LAL.
Figured that was the case, ESPN really needs to get some more reliable people.. throw some big $$$ at Woj or something this is ridiculous
Howard's potential statistical fits: Rockets Broussard: My gut feeling is Houston. Dallas has a shot. Lakers are in third but still have a shot. He's likes living in LA and they'll have cap space in 2014. Maybe they can convince him they'll build around him. The Houston meeting went well. Dwight is not only interested in playing with James Harden but getting a third star there. The Rockets have had talks with Josh Smith about trying to work a sign and trade. They're trying to get rid of Jeremy Lin. If they get Dwight, Omer Asik becomes available. I don't know what type of market there is for Lin. I've been told not much, especially when you consider he'll get 15 million two years from now. They may not be able to pull it off but that's part of their thinking. I think Houston is the best basketball fit for him and it may be the best off the court fit as well. Not quite as big as well. People behind the scenes think he doesn't want that pressure or can't handle that pressure cooker that is the Lakers. J.A. Adande: Slated to meet with Dallas. What is their pitch? Mavs are saying not only can we bring you in but we have flexibility, maybe we can move Marion. It won't end just with you. There is no state tax. Chance to play with Dirk. Cuban can sell I've assembled a championship roster. Come here, we'll make you a champion. The Lakers? They believe it's an advantage that they're going last. They'll be the last voices in his ear before he takes a break over the July 4th weekend and thinks things over and maybe that'll be enough to appeal to him. Perhaps, playing the nostalgic angle in addition to they can offer the most money and ask him, do you want to be a superstar who wants to play on three teams in three years? Come here, this is home, we know how to build championships, we have all this championship history, we have tradition, we'll be able to attract other free agents to play around you. Who has a better track record than attracting big name free agents than the Lakers? Who is the current favorite? Everyone believes the Houston Rockets. I'm inclined to go along with that as well. They can position him with a young star, maneuver to be a player in next year's free agent market as well, get away from the weight in LA. It might be better off to go somewhere else and he can be himself. You also have to worry about the Kobe Bryant factor as well. That was a tough fit for them. Two very different personalities, very different approaches to the game. In Houston, it can be more of his team. He'd be playing with James Harden, who was willing to take a back seat to Durant and Westbrook in Oklahoma City, you probably wouldn't be fighting Howard for control of the team as much as Kobe has here in LA.
Multiple people have sources that have confirmed he has decided on either the Lakers, Houston, or Dallas. So multiple people are going to look like idiots with their "sources" while someone will be verified as having true connections. Should be an interesting ride.
I don't ever remember Chris Palmer being biased. That being said, I would wait until the ink is dry before I move on to another target. Either way, we are set up solid with Harden as our leading star.
I would hate to live in LA. But I would be suicidal to live in Houston. However, what you and I like is very different from what Dwight likes.
