That's because Dragic was the Suns ONLY weapon on offense, thus he's jacking up 3s that Lin wouldn't take. With Harden, Dragic would've been a great fit, but I don't blame Morey for balking at that player option.

The correct answer is and will be SERGIO LLULL. Rockets will sign a vet to a similar deal as Delfino to cover themselves for this year, and then will use the MLE to bring over Llull next year.

sessions can't shoot from the outside. With Howard, Harden handling at times, and Houston's emphasis on threes, I just don't see Lin being replaced by anyone who isn't a good three point shooter.

If you learn how to spell Jeremy without the J, maybe we'll know you're not confused ...

We're down to Sessions, Toney Douglas and Mike James?

Me, I'll take Jack IF AND ONLY IF we must shed salary for Josh Smith as the 3rd star, and Asik's salary alone isn't enough (ie Josh Smith asks for above his fair value, but we have to give it to him as it is a package deal with Dwight).

Otherwise, why bother? The other options aren't that great.

Have you seen the output of Gortat when the Suns went from Nash to Dragic? Dragic doesn't know how to get big men the rock. Gortat was pretty pissed last season, in no small part due to Dragic.

Lowry? Final year on contract, and we'd have to look for a replacement again. Plus he's not too fond of McHale, or Morey.

Jack is not an upgrade over Lin either. He's just cheaper and more experienced.

Jarrett jack is a good option but a few things we need to consider

    1. he is about to get 7-8m this year... if we sign and trade him... we are not shedding that much salary...
    2. his is much much older

    3. we don't know what to expect from him once he plays starting minutes full time...

Tyreke Evans for $11M/yr for 4 years ... now that he's off the market and getting paid much more than Jeremy Lin, the ABJ crowd will say ... "he's actually a SG, and paid like it because SG talent in the NBA is limisted"

ABJs will AFR (Always Find a Reason)

Yes, this is assuming he can be had for $4-5M/yr. But at Lin's salary, why bother?

Just FYI ... Jack shot 29.2% on 3s in the postseason, but a very good 50% overall.

Against Denver, the primary guy he was defending, Ty Lawson, went 21 and 8 (playing injured).

Jack is only an option if he's cheaper, and the cheaper contract is what's necessary to get Howard and Josh Smith.

Not sure how you figure Sessions into the mix. He's not a Free Agent and with no other backup PG on the Cats' roster, I cannot imagine there's anyone on the Rox that they'd trade for him considering his reasonable $/performance and local ties and that he seemed to really be happy in his role. I'd think Pargo who is an UFA would be much easier pickings if you want for some reason to pick through the bones of the Bobcats.

And if you wanted to get creative, trade back for Ish Smith with the Bucks before they realize how much they will need a floor general with an exited Monta and a pissed off to be there Jennings.... And Smith/Howard had all those good times in ORL so you got that instant chemistry there :)

It was sarcasm, just from reading through thread

And no to Ish Smith. Quite liked him before. Bad fit now. Can't shoot even from 2s, let alone 3s.

I kinda sold myself on Calderon. This shot chart is a little outdated, but his numbers have been consistent. Great shot selection, great free throw shooter, low turnovers, suspect defense.

But then again, I would take ANYONE BUT JEREMY. And just because I said that, doesn't mean I am some "ABJ" guy.

calderon is a halfcourt player that has the tendency to make the ball stick till the final seconds of the shot clock thus getting assists..it's not by natural ball movement, finding guys ala nash or something. and he's the worst defender at the pg position in the entire nba. he's not bad, but not as good as his stats would indicate either. not a fan.

    look at his unadjusted +/-

    raps this year:
105.2 ortg with him on the court. 106.7 without him on the court
(including a 109 drtg with him opposed to 107 drtg)

    pistons this year
102.1 ortg with him on the court. 104.9 without him on the court
(including a 112 drtg with him opposed 107 drtg)

Is Calderon really going to help free up cap space? He's 31 too. I think Lin has a lot more upside.

lin is obviously not in his class as a shooter or doesn't take care of the ball as well. but imo he still puts more pressure on the defense, and he's a better defender. the fascination with trading lin is ridiculous on this board. he seems to be the scapegoat for everything, when both him and harden adjusted quite well to playing with each other to form one of the most productive backcourts in the league last year.

for the 100th time. backcourt wasn't the problem. lin unfortunately got injured in the playoffs, but he was real good post as break..probz as good as any non all-star pg could play next to a ball dominant sg.

if we didn't collapse defensively and on the boards when asik went to the bench, or stopped turning it over at rapid rates as a team collectively combined with awful transition defense..then we'd have been a better team.

that's not even considering the age diff.

You mean the kind of low percentage contested three point jump shot you have to take when Harden passes you the ball with three seconds left on the shot clock after he has been holding it for the last fifteen-twenty seconds?

Yeah, he really is a ball hog. /sarcasm

He's fantastic at running the break and executing both p&r and set plays. One of the few pure point guards in the NBA.
