Why would we bash that? That seals him to Houston, because the Lakers aren't sign and trading him to a team in their division to be mediocre and pay out the butt in the luxury tax.
Everyone take comfort in knowing we will still be better than GSW next season. (Depending on deal) Barnes, Thompson, etc... There's still hope for us as well.
If the Warriors are our biggest threat, I think we are going to get him imo. Dwight loses a ton of money being SnTd to the warriors. They would have to give up AT LEAST one of Thompson or Barnes (both of whom are overrated I think). I think if it's between GSW and us, he's going with us. But what the **** do I know.
I still count GSW out because the Lakers aren't making that trade. Luxury Tax...great draft...they aren't getting a super stud young player back...Where do the Lakers win in this deal?
GG. Golden State has Steph Curry and David Lee as well as Harrison Barnes. Unless we guarantee Howard a third star, we're done.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Per <a href="https://twitter.com/Mike_Bresnahan">@Mike_Bresnahan</a>, the Lakers would rather let Dwight Howard walk than sign-and-trade him and pay luxury tax on Bogut, etc.</p>— Marcus Thompson (@gswscribe) <a href="https://twitter.com/gswscribe/statuses/351902370877280256">July 2, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Regardless he's proven to put up 50.... Which overrides the "they don't have anyone that can put up 30-40 points at will"
It doesn't mean anything man.. Lakers could still get Bogut, Thompson, picks... amnesty Artest and get rid of whoever else they need and still be ok...
