If Dwight does indeed sign, will this be the biggest (no pun) FA ever to sign in Houston? Pippen Barkely Drexler Hakeem Tmac Yao Francis All were trades or draft picks. It seems most of our All Star level players are traded for/drafted. I'm only in my 20s so I can't back too far, but would this be our biggest FA signing ever?
Do some of these include SnTs? Some might have due to necessity, but others might have just because in the old cba, it made a lot more sense for everyone involved to do a SnT. Player got extra bird rights benefits, old team got assets and new team maybe could have removed some salary or at least been more enticing to the FA. Just throwing that out there -- I haven't checked all these deals lol.
Yao and Hakeem weren't Free Agents Drexler,Tmac,Barkley,Pippen were all sign and trades The biggest free agent we've ever signed outright was literally probably stromile swift, everyone on this board thought we were getting a 15/12/3 blk guy to play on yao's weakside and we were going to own Houston has scored tons of big trades over the years, but free agents? Shandon anderson was another big one that comes up bc he was the Jazz' Manu Ginobili and to steal that guy from such a big rival is awesome. He went on to suck
There was a time when it seemed like Stromile Swift was going to be a HUGE signing. Same with Bonzi Wells. Shanden Anderson was amongst one of the better ones. Houston has not been a huge free agent destination over the years, but that could all change in the next week. I'm on the edge of my seat.
Yeah. Stromile Swift Shandon Anderson Mo Taylor Trevor Ariza Jeremy Lin Omer Asik That's the list of biggest Rockets free agent signings that I can recall. I've been following the Rockets hardcore since about 1990. Maybe some of the older guys can name some others.
