Hakeem taking a formal part-time role would make my day. Heck, make my last several months! If only...
All they need to do is show Dwight how Jack Nicholson supported him when the chips were down in the playoffs Then show him how Billy Crystal aint fickle like that and he stayed while the Clippers got eliminated til the very end
If you had the good sense to do that (send Clutch an email about it), how on earth could you be such a blockhead that you'd go political in the GARM?
Kobe's comments are interesting. <script src="http://player.espn.com/player.js?playerBrandingId=4ef8000cbaf34c1687a7d9a26fe0e89e&adSetCode=91cDU6NuXTGKz3OdjOxFdAgJVtQcKJnI&pcode=1kNG061cgaoolOncv54OAO1ceO-I&width=576&height=324&externalId=espn:9440720&thruParam_espn-ui[autoPlay]=false&thruParam_espn-ui[playRelatedExternally]=true"></script>

I guess the question I would have is that some people reported that Hakeem was going to be involved long term as a mentor to Dwight - at practices and such to help him train. Dream will be there past the recruit week it sounded like - now if its a every day thing is a different story I would imagine it would be when Dwight and the team have extended home stretches

* I can't believe people are trolling Cyberx. I'm just thankful we get his information. * Feeling like a rollercoaster with Howard. He's so unreadable and seems swayed by unimportant things. As excited as I felt earlier, now feel very much less so. So, going to take a step back emotionally * Kobe saying he can play at a high level for 3 more years. As I said earlier, Kobe is at around 54,000 total career minutes (reg season + playoffs). In a good year, until now, Kobe plays about 3,000 minutes or a bit more, if the playoff run is long. He's about to be 35. No one in the history of basketball, and only two have been there before (Malone, Kareem) has played close to their previous level once they hit 60,000 total career minutes. So the age, minute and now injury factors are all closing in on Kobe. He won't be the same this year. But he might be about right he could be good for another 3 years if he plays a shortened year this year and has two more seasons at around 2,000-2,500 minutes per year. After that, he'll be done in terms of being anything close to what he once was * Kevin Ding was maybe the most critical writer of Howard last year. So when he says he doesn't think Dwight can handle being in LA, sounds like reverse psychology. Ding tried to bait and push Howard all year long last year and blamed almost everything that went wrong on Howard. This is what Howard can expect if he stays in LA
Definitely would suggest people keep politics out of sports discussion. If you look at my signature, it says "CONSERVATIVE New Media." But I don't think I've ever mentioned one word about politics here. Politics and sports don't tend to mix very well, IMO.
