In this case...Im referring to The Source's homophobic slur....posts like that...posts full of cussing, personal attacks on other members, etc. You've been here long enough, you know the kind of stuff Clutch doesnt want on his board.
well houston can say," we've been the best team without a superstar for years. we got one last year and we almost took out the west's top team. if we can get you and josh, then this is the street we will have our parade."
The WHite pick was stupid. THe Morris pick was stupid. Cutting Lin. Getting rid of Novak. Trading Batum. Those are off the top of my head. I'm not mad - every team has good decisions and bad. My point is that trying to quantify the Mavericks plan after winning a title with the Rockets plan in the same time-frame is silly.
One thing for sure is that we're going to look awfully bad if we don't land Dwight. There has been talk about how confident we are and how we're trying to add pieces to compliment Howard. Saving money for next summer won't do jack if we strike out this summer.
Why does this movie thing keep coming up? Last time I checked the last NBA player to get a movie was Kevin Durant from OKC. Being in LA doesn't get you endorsements, but getting healthy, being the best center in the league, and contending does.
A factor? Maybe, maybe not. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I asked <a href="https://twitter.com/kobebryant">@kobebryant</a> how long he'll play: "I feel pretty damn confident I can be at a high level for at least another three years."</p>— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) <a href="https://twitter.com/LakersReporter/statuses/351822469381881857">July 1, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I feel like Morey accepts the fact that Dwight can change his mind in an instant and there is no use stressing over it when we've already got a solid young core that can go out and win games with or without Howard. He feels good about his chances of landing him, but he knows nothing is guaranteed. If we land him, great, we're an instant title contender, if not we've got the pieces and are in the situation to become one real soon. No reason to freak.
This is BOGUS! Dwight would only save money on games he played in FL if he does this. A whopping 4 games total (2 against Miami, and 2 against Orlando). In Houston, he save on 45 games (41 home, 2 in SA, and 2 in Dallas). Did cyberx really post this? Where?
lol wut? Novak is still the same player he was here. He just got more looks and PT, but he's not helping you make plays, just shots, that's why he just got traded.
The movie thing was a bad joke. There has been some talk that TW would offer him a reality show if he stays, but unless Dwight plans on doing it for free...the NBA will likely have something to say about that.(rules rules rules are nasty little things arent they LA?) Can you imagine that pitch? "Hey Dwight, you stay we will give you a tv show....but we arent gonna pay you for it....how does that strike you?"
Agreed, I think this is the Rockets position. They feel they have done all they can to show Howard that they can win with him. Its out of their hands at this point. They feel confident because they think they did a hell of a job.
Get a draft pick to make an impact on your team ever. Trade Kmart for harden. Now were in position to sign a Max and can still trade for another while keeping or core. Do you guys even have 5 starters yet?
First, you have to really be stretching if you're trying to make a case on drafting. You do realize that it's almost a complete crapshoot unless you have the opportunity to get a LeBron or Duncan (and several no. 1 picks haven't been all that great, either). But when you KNOW you have a key player like Chandler, Barea, Nash, etc. and you let them go? Stupid. Now, if you're going to compare Chandler, Nash, and Barea to Steve Novak, Batum, and Lin, be my guest. We got Lin back, BTW. Every team has good and bad decisions, but some are REALLY bad. Nash and Chandler are two of the worst decisions I've seen any owner make in the past 12 years. I'd put them top 10, easily, especially for what Chandler did for that team. The worst decision most of us can agree on- or some- that the Rockets made was trading the Rudy Gay draft pick for Shane Battier- and even then, you're talking about an unknown draft pick. Have we let any major player go, other than say Luis Scola?
