He was supposed to meet with Atlanta and Golden State today with Dallas and LA tomorrow. Cyber said he would or could make a decision Thursday. Something like that.
Houston makes the most sense if Dwight's serious about winning. Of course there's 2 things wrong with this sentence; 1) Dwight making decisions that make sense and 2) being serious about winning. I thought the Rockets had the leg up and I still do at this juncture but once Dwight talks to the lakers, i think it's over. They deserve each other. I get the feeling/sounds like he cares too much about the "little things" like wooing phone calls and the glitz and glam of LA. He claims it's all about the ring (can't blame him...what do you expect him to say) but he's a man child with a gifted body and technique but happens to love/value the byproducts of the NBA more.
Lakers tomm and that should be it. I think we should get worried if a quick decision is made. It's in Dwight's best interest (perception-wise) to not drag this process out if he's jumping ship.
If that's true then la becomes the favorite. But as it stands, that extra year would be the equivalency of playing 1 year for $9 million after taxes (the dollars in the first four years of his contract would be the same). Unless he is certain he is getting injured then he is shooting himself in the foot.
He may not be considered classically cheap....but I guarantee you he aint spending money like he used to....the tax penalties are affecting what all the teams are spending. You dont stay a billionaire by throwing money down the drain.
Everyone has been saying that he has looked chill. I think he knows that if he can get Smith, he can get Dwight.
Reading this thread is like doing cocaine. As you rise towards a blissful plateau, at some point you start to fear its all going to go very wrong.
I think he makes just as many dumb decisions as he does smart ones. Bringing in Tyson Chandler, Shawn Marion, and Jason Kidd? Great. Letting Chandler, Barea, and Kidd go? Stupid. Not showing up to a meeting with Deron Williams? Dumb. Letting Steve Nash go? Stupid. What have the Rockets done that is truly stupid? Yao and T-Mac are injury situations, can't be helped. Trading Battier for Rudy Gay? Depends on how you view Rudy Gay. Pau Gasol? Nothing we could do about that. There's a difference in that Cuban had the opportunity to keep guys who were already great on his team and he let them go. What free agents have walked away from the Rockets since 2000?
Legit question here. What kind of post are you gonna come down on so I know that to quote that post? The Twitter feed ones?
The thing with his house is he isnt avoiding the INCOME tax, he is wanting to get the tax breaks that claiming a HOMESTEAD exemption on his house in Florida. The taxes in CALI are there if he works for ANY California team. The talk about this have no bearing on how much he has to pay in income tax.
IMO, he is a much better PF than a SF. Oh wait, I forgot that the Knicks had 21 million dollar Amare on the team as PF. Also forgot that they added Bargnani for another 10.7 million. HA Ha Ha...the Knicks have almost 54 million next season invested in PFs. Not that they are a bad team in the East.
I was on board with that until cyber said DH doesn't give an eff about playing with Josh. This thread has really taken me on an emotional rollercoaster, lol.
Someone used very inappropriate language, and the mods did a good job getting rid of it almost instantly.
I've read some tweets in this thread about Dwight wanting to go to DAL. But he hasn't met with them yet. WTF
