How is this Decision II? There is no 1 hour special. He can't sign with a team I believe until 7/10. There is nothing wrong with a FA fielding all his options before making a decision. LBJ KNEW his decision already. He simply wanted to showcase it. I have not seen that happening with Dwight yet.

I've posted enough about how and why I don't want him. Don't wanna pee on everyone's parade, so I'll just shut up about his negatives, my worst fears, etc., and just hope it all works out for the best.

Agreed! I have posted enough as to why I do not want him. I have warmed to it a little based on the fact that I think it is inevitable but I would prefer that it not happen. I can see way too many bad issues that could happen if we sign him and we are far from a lock to make the finals if we do.

That's how I feel. In a vacuum would I want Dwight? Hell no. He's a mental case and a little b**** with thin skin who doesn't really show any leadership pedigree whatsoever plus his game has huge holes. He is however the best player available and the best center in the league. I really think its one of those damned if you do damned if you don't type things. That said, I hope we sign him because it'll make things hella more interesting and would probably make a CSN deal get done so we could actually watch games again.

Not only is this not Decision II, Lebron is an otherworldly player who clearly worked hard to better the weak parts of his game and now can do everything well.

Dwight is overrated, a limited player who hasn't really worked on his game that gets by on natural talent and athleticism, and seems like a beeyotch mentally.

Do the Rockets really want to pay this over-hyped center the max when they already have 8 mill per year Asik who averaged about 4 points less per 36 than Diva Dwight? Do they really gain that much more on defence?

Yes. Dwight may not be Lebron type player, but he is still the most dominant in the center by far. It is not JUST 4 more points. His WORST year where he came back EARLY from injury is still better than Asik's career year thus far. Dwight is much faster and athletic, doesn't fumble passes when rolling to the wing, does not forget he can dunk, and is much more fearsome on D. Unlike Asik, Dwight can also draw in a 3rd star. Asik is definitely a good C, but to think he is anywhere near Dwight is just ludicrous. At his worse, Dwight is still the best center in the league right now. Is Asik even top 5?

Howard signed with Houston. Game #1 of regular season....broke his leg, out for the season. Curse of the Rockets...always happen every time! Just ask Yao lol and any other high caliber players that join them.

I also worry about loss of chemistry and the comradery these guys are building. I wanted to keep Asik and spend our max on an allstar PF. But there's no way in hell any team or gm in the NBA passes up on a proven game changer like Dwight, even @ max. He instantly takes us to that next level, instead of hoping and waiting for years for one of ours to develop. If you got a sure thing you put on your raincoat, mount, and thrust right in. You never know the next time she's gonna spread those what was I talking about again?

Good points about Howard. However, Asik may not be top 5, but he's arguably low top 10 and much cheaper without the diva baggage. Are you not worried that he may not be able to handle being second fiddle to Harden?

Why is Dwight Howard so coveted? I simply don't get it. Sure, I would've liked to have the Dwight Howard from his early years in Orlando. But I guess the fame got to his head and he feels like he's entitled. Diva: do not want. That, and he's injury prone. This will be T-mac all over again for us if we get him.

I am a lot more worried about not having a 2nd star than having a diva for a 2nd star. If you have a chance to sign a franchise player, you do it. No if's and's or but's. First, McHale is a player's coach and great motivator. Players love playing for him. Second, Harden is no Kobe. He is laid back and was able to play fine with KD and WB and adapting off the ball when needed. Third, we want to win NOW. Asik will not help us win now with our current team. I couldn't even take a top team without their 2nd best player to Game 7. Does anyone honestly think a team starting Asik, Parsons, Lin, and Harden will get us to the finals? Unless you are a LBJ type player, contracts don't scale directly proportional to talent. Top talents will typically be more than what we believe a player should be worth.
