Why is everyone so hyped to see a lineup of Lin-Harden-Parsons-Smith-Howard

First of all do you guys realize that four of those players are in the top twenty in turnovers/game?

Add to that the fact that Smith and Howard shoot 50% and below from the free throw line, you have a recipe for disaster.

The spacing for the team is off so badly, Howard, Lin and Smith are not reliable knock down shooters. Maybe if there are two PnRs going on at the same time on the court the D wouldn't key in on the primary Screen, but Mchale doesnt incorporate alot off weakside movement in his sets. Its usually a high or side screen and roll with everyone else spotting up.

Plus Smith and Howard are redundant. Both are great defenders and shotblockers, both cant hit shots, both have middling post games. Unless Smith changes his game up a lot I don't see the point in giving him 10+ million when we have someone doing what he does at 20 million

    1. Sign Howard to max
    2. Trade Asik+White+Jones for Smith in a sign and trade that pays him $12.5 million a year.
    3. Bring back Francisco Garcia.

    Howard/G. Smith
    J Smith/Motiejunas/Parsons
    Parsons/Garcia
    Harden/Anderson
    Lin/Bev

Still a very young lineup. Loads of potential for the next few years.

White, Ohlbrecht, and Anderson could be added to Asik's salary to get salaries close enough to fit within trade rules (within 5 million for outgoing salary between 9.8 and 19.8 million).

It is tough for me to judge the worth of a player's defense. Smith is a very good defender. Is he a max worth defender? I just don't know.

At this point the question that Rocket's fans need to ask themselves is who would you rather see Rondo or Smith? As of right now it looks like it's going to be Smith but I think Rondo would work just as well if not better.

    Rondo/Bev/Cannan
    Harden/??
    Parsons/??
    ??
    Howard/G. Smith
    VS
    Lin/Bev/Cannan
    Harden/??
    Parsons/??
    Smith/D-MO
    Howard/G. Smith
    Which lineup is better?

lol sorry to be a buzzkill but its just been boggling my mind that people think getting smith is sooo drooolll worthy. Him and Howard and LIn and Harden all want the ball. So who doesnt get it and can those players play off ball. ANd if Smith plays off ball Im not paying him 12 million as a role player. Especially when Asik can do that at 8 mil and Parsons is up for a contract soon too.

Dwight Howard/J Smith/Parsons is a extremely strong defensive core. Probably the best in the league by a good bit.

Why the hell would we want a ball dominating guard who can't shoot?

Also add Beverly to that list. Probably the best defensive starting line-up in the league. Maybe they'll get Harden to play defense too.

I want to keep jones and d-mo for one more season. I want to see how d-mo returns and I believe t jones will excel next season with the rockets.

But if we had to include one of them in a s&t then d-mo.

Yes as long as you are within the salary matching rules.

Dont understand why we are going after Dunleavy when Garcia said he wants to come back. Dunleavy won't be any cheaper than Garcia.
