Says who? Has there been a single connected source to say that?

Lakers all-in on signing Dwight Howard. However, money is an issue for them. A big one.
Milo Hamilton was on 790 And said that Dwight's people were in houston Friday looking at homes Bc he knows exactly what house he was looking at. Said he knows it for a fact.
That movie wouldnt make it to the big screen. No offense, but Shaq killed you on the first one. If he cares about winning then he will be a Rocket. If he chooses LA than good riddance.
Lakers cant say they are open to S&T's one day before meeting Howard. That's basically conceding before you pitch. I'm sure they're open to it, but they can't say it right now.
wow - lady on espn 710 LA radio right now - completely BLASTING Kobe man she makes the most sense out of any Lakers fan I have heard
Kazaam 2, seriously?? Hahaha worst movie of all time. He can still film it if he goes to Houston, it will probably take 3 days to film that piece of crap. If it keeps him in LA, good luck to ya Dwight.
Why? You think it's a good idea to cut Gasol, lose Dwight to an in-state division rival, all for the upside of Klay f'n Thompson and his PER of 12? I'm sure they're open to a S&T if the upside trumps the downside. It doesn't with Thompson.
Seeing the same thing around the internet. If Dwight leaves, some of the LA fans are likely to turn on Kobe, for driving him off. Like another big man left. Fair or not, this will almost certainly happen if Dwight leaves. I'm sure Dwight knows that, too. And if Doc Rocket is right about how Dwight feels about Kobe, I'm sure Dwight is looking forward to that moment, if it comes.
Actually it would be circumvention rather than tampering. i don't see how they could possibly offer a TV deal as part of the negotiation. 29. Can a team pay a player less but arrange for an affiliated company to also pay him, perhaps by way of an endorsement contract? I suppose it could happen, but the NBA will investigate if it suspects that an outside person or organization is paying a player on behalf or at the request of a team (even if the compensation is ostensibly for non-basketball services). If they find out that such circumvention has occurred, they will penalize the team. For the first offense the fine can be up to $3 million, forfeiture of a first round draft pick, and/or voiding the player's contract. The penalties increase for subsequent violations. Incidentally, players are no longer allowed to become player-coaches. This is because it would be possible to circumvent the cap by signing a player as a player-coach, and paying him less as a player but overpaying him as a coach. http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q29
You might be right. But my guess is it's better to get something for a major asset rather than nothing. Depends on what you would get, I would think. I just meant a S&T in general, not necessarily for Thompson. My bad for not seeing the whole context of what you said.
