Reasons why a SnT to Golden State is unlikely 1. Dwight can't get the full max and still get hit with Cali's state tax. He loses 13% of the money he would get from us 2. The Lakers' pocket will get hit really bad if they decide to take back salary in a sign and trade with the harsh tax penalties in effect. Is it really worth it for essentially Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson? 3. They still won't be good enough even after the trade to do anything. They would just be spinning their wheels at a very high price. 4. Lakers would just be delaying the inevitable and would miss out on this great draft class. 5. Is a Curry-Thompson/Barnes-Lee-Howard core better than Harden-Parsons- (potentially Smith)-Howard core?
True, but the article I just posted begs to differ. Even with that 5th year, all kinds of taxes and the fact he has a home in LA (Cali) makes the Rockets a more lucrative option.
It's Marc Spears, he's the yahoo guy from random noise, it's the other guy you look for if you want quality.
Haha, they will be old and injured next year too. Nash is done. He used to be a iron man but the past few years he has not been. Time waits for no one and it's done waiting for Nash. Kobe is coming off a ACL injury...that will have him out for likely more than half of the season. And according to some Laker fans the big idea is to get rid of Pau to bring in someone like Ellis...if THAT is their big idea Dwight should be running far far away.
If I was Dwight, I'd go with Curry and David Lee. Curry is great play maker + shooter. David Lee got a post game that Dwight doesn't. And upbeat tempo probably better for Dwight.
The Lakers and the media friendly to them are working to build "momentum" before tomorrow's meeting. You're going to hear all kinds of wonderful, super-spun stories between now and then. The goal of this is to make it feel like the Lakers have regained the momentum, and the narrative, in the quest for Dwight's services. It's also intended to help convince Dwight Howard to stay, with the "buzz" being generated. If you are a Rockets fan who is easily irritated by stories that make the "opponent" look good, I would stay off of Twitter and the internet until at least tomorrow after Dwight meets with the Lakers. Even then, you will get stories about how "great" the meeting went, I'm sure.

We're going to need that third superstar or more vets....IMO, thats the key. LA is older, not old. You look at what the spurs did this year...you can argue they should have won and probably would have, if TP wasn't injured. Now you have guys like delfino, garcia, and brooks floating around, who would be great additions to that Laker team, who knows, maybe they sign cheap to try to get a ring. Unfortunately, the pg spot is the one that needs more experience and it may not be easy to upgrade significantly at this moment. I think Houston will slowly start to shift back, as more of these teams, especially LA, meet with DH.
Steph Curry can't even stay on the court for more than a month at a time. Is that what you want to hitch yourself to for 4 years?? Harden is a proven All-Star, plus he has an established friendship with Dwight.
Yep, prob a 99% chances that "sources" will anoint the Lakers as front-runners for Dwight after tomorrow's meeting.
I guess you aren't familiar with LA talking radio heads. like I said, I listen to them DAILY. every single one of those reporters work for the official flagship radio station in Los Angeles, ESPN 710 am. every one of them will continue to output info which favors Dwight staying in LA. I wouldn't expect anything different.

Don't know if this has been posted but apparently Dwight wants the Rockets to add a third superstar http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/e...t-howard-wants-houston-to-add-third-superstar it's probably why Asik and Lin are on the market
