If that's true, then wouldn't that mean he truly cares about winning and not about being the an offensive focal point? I suppose one could say he just wants another good player around him and still want to be the main point of the offense, but to me it seems like he cares about the right thing with this. Winning.
Reading the posts of Laker fans on various boards is interesting; kind of like don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out Dwight. I don't know if their remarks are fatalistic or they really didn't like him. Not a lot of support among Laker fans. Is that what you are seeing?
They won't be able to add a 3rd superstar. It's going to be nearly impossible for ANY team to have 3 SUPERstars going forward. But he can have a guy like Parsons who is just below All-Star quality, maybe a guy like Josh Smith who has a lot of talent at certain areas, etc.
Chandler Parsons? He's got potential to fill that 3rd role! No? It was going to be Chris Paul but he went out and f***ed it up being a racist t**t. Looking forward to see who that is. MOAR NEWS!
what other superstar is out there for the taking? Is rondo a superstar? Aldridge is not a superstar. Smith is not. Love is not. These guys are all all-stars but not really superstars.
I suppose there is that too, but I've seen a lot of people mocking Houston for how they approached their presentation to Dwight, and how dare we for saying we have a history of good centers, championships, etc. For the record, there are definitely some good guys on there, and not everyone is saying this, even though a lot of the recent posts are in that vein. Every group has those people, including us, so I shouldn't have just said Lakers fans as a generalization. They just happen to have a lot more fans, so the bad ones show themselves more often.
It ain't Parsons he talking about! It's Josh Smith who was allegedly in attendance at the meeting last night too. That's the third star. D12/Beard/Smoove book it!
You're right, there aren't really any 'superstar' level players that I see being available, but I think for this sake, we can consider Aldridge and Love to be acceptable. I'm sure he'd love Smith too, but I would put him slightly lower than those two.
I thought we could SnT asik for Smith. I know people don't consider him a superstar, but maybe Howard does? Harden/Smith/Howard...
The difference is that Harden is the other franchise player to play alongside Dwight. Nash is well past his prime and won't be in LA for more than another year.
i was under the assumption of him wanting a third superstar behind him and lin. Maybe he meant him and harden. Though i don't see why. Harden is an all star, but Lin is a superstar. Mega star to be honest. Stats show that per48 x 100 put Lin around Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Roberston #'s. This could go down as the greatest team of all time led by the future goat pg.
I thought it was pretty much understood that Parsons was potentially that guy? trading away Asik to get a Josh Smith to me is pushing it, but obviously if you're gonna trade Asik, you BETTER get something for him. I just hope DH stays healthy.
