I can't blame him for doing his due diligence. We can't sign until the 10th anyways, and considering how monumental this decision is why not hear all the options in the meantime? He has nothing to lose.

But hopefully he's pretty convinced already, and will end up going into to these meetings focusing on the negatives to justify his choice (Rockets).

My bad, interpreted it the other way: "Dwight meeting with Rockets when he was clearly signing with LA."

you can start on page 15

but I started that appreciation thread for doc, and he he told me in DM on twitter basically my sig was right and I think he implied that smith was the secret guest at the dinner last night.

    here:

"Irony: the 1person who starts the coolest thread is 1 who got it right:their BBS signature! Haha...finally. Look whose coming to dinner!"

crazy thing was smith was in LA last night meeting with dumars from pistons per espn. So it could have happened...keep refreshing twitter to see if that comes out.

Yes your right. I was just as cautious as many on this BBS about Dwight signing here but the writing is all but on the wall now. Pistons meet with Smith but don't offer him a contract? Why do this if your going 100% in on a guy? Smith meeting across the street from the Howard's meeting. As reported yesterday because Smith was there in that dinner meeting too that's why. People think that Howard hates MDA and his system but the real reason he is leaving L.A. is KOBE. But it's all politics and smoke screens now. Meet with multiple teams so that everything appears on the up and up and no tampering charges are filed. Why do you think we had the first meeting? Blame MDA's system so that when you leave your legacy is not tarnished by people saying you didn't want to play with the great Kobe and you have no heart. It's all smoke and mirrors and we should be able to see through it clearly now.

somewhere on this thread, someone posted a tweet about LA fans hating on Dwight for his play with the Lakers, but yet get angry at him for leaving LA for another team. Sounds about right.

Yea I was reading that earlier. It seems all they have to brag about is what they've done in the past and not how they're preparing to remain competitive in the future. Some guy even when on to post this metaphor regarding championships(and I'm paraphrasing):

"Would you rather have 1 doctor perform a surgery on you who has only performed it successfully twice or a doctor who has performed it successfully 16 times?"

Which to me just sounds stupid because their personnel is not the successful doctor.
