I don't think I've seen a single other person have any negative reaction to what's been going on this past couple days...
What could you have possibly inferred from last night that would make it seem like it went wrong in any way? If we don't get Dwight then so be it, but the meeting, by all accounts, went great.
Yep! I think this is the reason that the Pistons did not even present Smith with a contract last night. They are waiting to see what happens with him and Houston, similar to how we waited for Bosh's decision (who evidentially signed with Heat). Dumars has ears and he knows what time it is. This is the same scenario Miami had only this time it's happening in Houston.
I wouldn't sweat that. Phil had said a bunch of times in interviews that he does want to coach, but his body just can't handle the rigors of traveling the whole season. Most of the rumors swirling around him involve front office positions, it seems unlikely that the Lakers would get rid of Kupcheck to bring in Phil as a GM. It would be less likely that bringing in an unproven GM would sway Dwight's decision.
Phil Jackson is a great coach and basketball mind. I don't believe he is so great that he will take Kobe (hurt and old), Nash (hurt and old), Gasol (yes... hurt and old) to the finals with or without Dwight. If it is truly about winning and being able to sustain that, he will choose Houston.
you guys remember the whole bosh thing? still met with the rockets when he was CLEARLY going to miami Dwight is the same way
Someone needs to start a thread about RickSmith. It's time to come out of hiding and tell us what you know. Dont be a tease.
