Fake John McClain @FakeJohnMcClain 12m Meeting w/ Dwayne Howard went great. He loved my lemon squares & even loved the idea of maybe being in Cook County 2: Squeal Little Piggie.
Harden wants to win and get paid fair market price. He's never really desired to be the guy, even in his school days.
Says who...??? Harden could just be pulling a Dwayne Wade and Shaq move... Let Shaq think it was his team but Wade was still running the show. I think it will be the same scenario.
Don't really know anything about him do you? His coaches in his school days, where the skill differential was absurd used to have to tell him to shoot more because it was better for the team. Then of course came his letter to Presti, and his willingness to sign with OKC for a slight discount if they threw in a trade kicker.

Chris Mannix: Where does Dwight Howard go? Right now, Houston is a strong favorite. Talking to a couple people late last night and early this morning, they were very happy with the meeting last night and felt Howard was impressed with him. They got a good vibe from Dwight about his willingness to go down and play in Houston. The Rockets can trot out Hakeem, Clyde, Yao Ming on the Skype but the big reason Dwight wants to play in Houston is James Harden. He likes the idea of playing with Harden the next 4-5 years. He likes the possibility of that dynamic. I think Houston is a strong favorite. That being said, the hardest player to get a read on is Dwight. Every time you think you know what he wants to do, he goes in a completely different direction. Right now, I think Houston is a strong leader in the clubhouse. Team with the best opportunity to win? From a logical perspective, Golden State probably has the best chance. They're ready made with Thompson and Curry. He can't walk there and sign. Warriors would need to do a sign and trade and give talent back in return. The team he can sign with, Houston. Houston would look to a sign and trade as well. Probably look to move Omer Asik. With Harden, Lin, Parsons, the real talent on that roster, that is the best chance to win a title. For LA, it sounds like they're resigned to this inevitable conclusion. Every time you think of reasons for Dwight to stay in LA, the only thing that keeps coming back is money. There are just very limited reasons for one to go back. I don't know why the Lakers remain committed to Mike D'Antoni. I think the Lakers, they're saying they won't do a sign and trade with anyone but if Dwight wants to leave, and says I'm going to sign with Houston and they're willing to give you Omer Asik, he's not the worst idea for the Lakers right now. He's not as high profile but he's a legitimate five man. He rebounds, defends, runs the floor at a decent flip, a better offensive player than I thought when he signed in Houston last year. He's almost perfect to play alongside Gasol and will do the dirty work and won't demand the touches. If Dwight decides that he wants to go to Houston, it won't surprise me if the Lakers do a sign and trade that includes Omer Asik. Josh Smith - I think Houston is interested in him as well. I think it will be part of the pitch to Dwight, we'll do everything to get Josh Smith to be your partner in the front court.
Source? Thanks though. So in the case of a S&T for Howard involving Asik, could we sign Smith as a free agent? I don't think the Rockets are very interested in that scenario are they?
Is it just me or should we be scared of the Warriors? They got to the 2nd round without David Lee, took the Spurs to 6 games, and fit DHoward like a glove. They have even more potential to win than the Rockets, with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson shooting 3's like no other.
Don't be scared of them. Word is that they were given a formal meeting simply out of respect for their owner or GM. Very small chance they get him.
OK, finally caught up on the entire thread. Only good news so far, but that's what you'd expect. I also expect Mavs and LAL to feel good about their chances when they meet with Dwight, so I don't know if that really means much.
I don't have time to go through all the pages, but apparently Kupchak met with him first before Houston? http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...-howard-met-lakers-gm-meeting-houston-rockets
They have to give up substantial talent for the Lakers to be interested. Also, both Landry and Jack could leave via free agency. So, who will be left from last season's squad? HOU can add Howard while keeping almost every piece from its rotation.
Comments regarding Lin (and to a smaller extent Asik) differs from what's been reported in the last couple of days ...
