Totally agree. We already have a foundation. They still need one. Nonetheless, whomever lands him will dramatically improve.
This is it. This is the end of the run of Dwight walks. Everyone knows it, too. Kobe wants Dwight to stay so the last few years of his career aren't spent possibly playing for a west coast version of the Bobcats or Raptors. Not that bad, of course, but you get my drift. For the Buss family, the heirs, things might turn south quick with the franchise. The Clippers are clearly better than the Lakers and are now poised to remain that way, with Doc on board and Paul re-signing. In less than one year, the Lakers have gone from being co-favorites for the NBA title to being labeled "desperate" for placing billboards up to try to keep Dwight Howard. No empire lasts forever. But the Lakers' fortunes might fade faster than most. If Dwight leaves, well, better start getting the lifeboats ready.
how is it that LA is even allowed to pursue dwight.. as they sit theyre payroll is 77 million. so theyre gona give dwight 20m how does that work??
Very true. As a fan, I have to thank the Rockets brass for fulfilling their promise and not tanking. 2 off-seasons ago, if anybody would have said this team would be in this position they would have been laughed off of the board. It's crazy to think that not that long ago, Luis Scola and Kevin Martin were are top 2 guys.
I don't know what Kupchak had in mind or why it would really change anything either. But I'm not miffed like others that he tried to get the first word in. Like I said, he's just doing his job.
