    They have a LOT of work to do to clear cap space.

    And even if Mitch met with him briefly, it matters not. All Dwight has to say is, "Not now Mitch. I have a meeting with Houston. I'l see you on Tuesday."

    People mad about Kupchak talking to Dwight at 9:01pm.

    Wouldn't worry about it. Dwight is officially in a place now where he never has to deal with the Lakers again if he doesn't want to.

    If he wants to bolt LA, it should become clear pretty rapidly. Just because someone doesn't want to trash the place when they leave doesn't mean they don't want to leave.

    Lakers' leverage is pretty much over now. They can run ads, put up billboards and Kobe can tweet, but this is all in Howard's hands now. He's free.

    Could that meeting really have lasted very long? It was probably a quick phone call while he was on the way to meet with the Rockets. It was more of Kupchak getting on his knees...
